Continue ReadingMadson played up this past spring and summer with the 17U Minnesota Rise team as a skilled and crafty lead guard. Two qualities as a player that usually allows you to play up age levels are shooting and creating. Madson was the lead guard on the Rise team sharing the ball as equally if not more than scoring at times. When open however, Madson didn’t hesitate to shoot. At a Prep Hoops Live Event Madson had an 18-point straight performance. Not the smallest player on the court at the 17U level, Madson didn’t let the size difference matter as he slashed and scored as much as he shot 3’s within his balance offense arsenal.

Playing up with the 17U Real Phenom team in AAU, Ware really broke onto the scene running the point for Phenom. The five-foot-nine-inch point guard is quick with the ball, and can go well beyond the 3-point line at times to make 3’s. Ware has a pretty effortless shooting motion, and isn’t weary of going inside to utilize a floater as he consistently is able to get paint touches on drives.
Highlights
Anthony Smith
Anthony Smith
Smith was a standout performer this Spring and Summer on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit leading the Adidas D1 Minnesota team. In their final tournament on the 3SSB circuit Smith helped push D1 Minnesota into the 15U finals. He is a confident ball handler with quick first step who’s a crafty finisher and passer. Although his stature is small, Smith uses space efficiently putting defenders on his back ala Tre Young, and creates separation with the dribble. He utilizes a floater while inside and when using quickness to get separation on the perimeter he fires away from outside. In July Smith picked up a Division One offer from George Mason.
Sullivan is the son of former Tartan and Iowa State standout Jake Sullivan. JJ, a lefty, seems to have the same flair his Dad had, a confident shooter, especially from beyond 3. He made 31 3’s on the 3SSB circuit and averaged 14.3 points per game. He can create separation by working defenders with his dribble and plays with good pace.
Duke Richardson
Duke Richardson
Richardson plays in a Malcolm Brogdon mold with a bit better looking jumper. The six-foot-one-inch guard likes to go to his left off the dribble and pull on unsuspecting defenders from distance. He methodically probes defenders to create as well, for himself and others.
Jaleel Donley
Jaleel Donley
The six-foot-two-inch scoring guard from Hopkins that plays AAU with Howard Pulley, plays with a combination of skills reminiscent of recent left-handed East Ridge grad Kendall Blue but as a flair for passing like D’Angelo Russell. Donley is a confident scorer with a handle that enables him to be an efficient shot creator.
Grant Tylutki – Guard – 5’10 – Minnesota Comets/Rocori
Grant Tylutki
Grant Tylutki
Tylutki is an athlete that has strength usually seen in Juniors and Seniors his size that allows him to finish lay-ups through contact like a running back. Has mechanical shooting mechanics with good balance, and solid follow through, and is a solid defender on the perimeter moving his feet.
Isaac Cordes
Isaac Cordes
Excellent understanding of pace of the game, a point-guard that gets everyone involved and has good vision to make necessary passes. Plays the point guard position in a traditional sense, but is also a confident 3-point shooter with a smooth shooting motion. While running the Minnesota Fury attack he kept a good balance of scoring and creating for a team that played very unselfishly.
