Jermaine Washington Jr. has a tremendously quick first step, and uses it to blow by defenders and get to the rim almost at all. Jermaine shoots the ball capably from three but refining that area of his game would make him an even tougher cover than he already is. Washington Jr. is a strong help and on-ball defender and uses his instincts and understanding of the game to pick up steals and deflections.

Jermaine Washington Jr. had 20 points for Rancho Verde on Thursday afternoon in a tightly contested win over San Clemente. Washington started quickly in this one with 10 points in the first half but it was down the stretch that he put the game away with multiple threes and lockdown defense. Washington Jr’s shot selection and quality will likely improve at the next level as he currently plays in an offense where he has to create everything on his own without much, if any structure.
