Richmond HS Summer Jamboree Top Performers

<div data-message-id="#msg-a:r-5722953468207267692" data-legacy-message-id="18164ec3619211d1"> <div> <div> <div id=":qy"> <div id=":qx"> <div dir="auto"> <p dir="auto"><em>Richmond County HS held their annual jamboree, featuring teams from around the state that came in to compete. The event had a nice mixture of old and new talent that fans and coaches at the next level should be excited about. </em></p> <p>Richmond County Junior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1076334" first="Paul" last="McNeil"]</strong> is a name that you should already know as he is a top 15 player in the nation and holds interest/offers from schools around the country. Despite being such a highly ranked player, he plays the game in an unselfish manner and showcased not only his scoring ability but also how well he rebounds and facilitates. </p> <p>New Life Christian Junior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1062097" first="Malachi" last="Travis"]</strong> has continued to progress overall as a player with one of his main areas being his ability to handle the ball against pressure. We already know that he can score at a high level which is something that we saw consistently but he improved greatly with ballhandling skills which now allows him to be able to make more plays while keeping his TOs low. </p> <p>Hickory Ridge Junior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1154672" first="Miles" last="Beard"]</strong> was easily one of the top overall performers at the event, he got where he wanted on the court, scoring the ball at a very high level. He understands how to use his size/strength to attack /finish at the basket and has the ability to knock down shots from outside but doesn’t settle for the deep ball too often. </p> <p>Pine Forest Junior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1104959" first="Darris" last="Simmons"]</strong> found a high amount of success beating opponents off the dribble which allowed him to score in the paint at a nice level. He has a quick first step, plays the game with confidence and has developed into a very solid defender. </p> <p>South Granville Junior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1076363" first="Oliver" last="Roberts"]</strong> provided a high amount of scoring for his team by simply putting his head down and getting to the basket. He didn’t settle for the outside shot and used his defensive ability to force some turnovers to help his team get out into transition. </p> <p>Porter Ridge Senior Forward <strong>Jack Fazilat</strong> plays the game with a very high motor, was active on the offensive boards and made several plays above the rim. On the defensive end of floor, he contested and blocked shots at a nice rate without fouling. </p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>
