Here were some of the standout shooting guard and small forwards I viewed:
Memorial Weekend: AZ Standouts: SG/SF’s
2024
Wyatt MacKay Wyatt MacKay 6'4" | SG North Canyon | 2024 State AZ North Canyon (Southwest Rebels)
An athletic wing forward who is improving his skill. He can step back off the dribble and can hit the catch-3. He can dribble drive to the basket and spin off of his defender with contact to score. He is tough on the ball defensively and brings energy to both sides of the court.
2025
Andrew Bhesania Andrew Bhesania 6'8" | PF Boulder Creek | 2025 State #348 Nation AZ Boulder Creek (UH Elite 15 UAA Rise) (Pictured)
A fluid forward who can handle it fairly well for his size. He can play both forward spots and he keeps improving. He has good hands to catch passes and rebounds anything in his area. He is versatile offensively as he can shoot the three plus rip through and score in the paint. He takes very few strides to get to the basket. He will block shots in his area and makes good passes.
Caspian Jones Caspian Jones 6'7" | SF St. Mary's | 2025 State AZ St. Mary’s (Vegas Elite 15 EYBL)
A strong built wing forward scores it many ways. He can hit the catch three, plus cut to the basket, dunk it or rip through and use his body to score through contact. He rebounds at a good clip and he moves well in space to defend. He recently decided that he is heading to St. Mary’s.
D’Andre Harrison D’Andre Harrison 6'5" | PF Perry | 2025 State AZ Perry (Vegas Elite 15 EYBL)
A highly skilled forward seems like he is pushing out another inch recently. He is one of the more consistent forward shooters in the class locally from mid to the 3pt line. His length allows him to rebound, defend multiple positions and he is starting to get some pop to dunk the ball easier. He will block shots in and out of his area.
Ayden Madi Ayden Madi 6'4" | SG Brophy Prep | 2025 State AZ Brophy Prep (UH Elite 15 UAA Rise)
A shooting guard who has grown two inches in the last year. He is a natural catch 3pt shooter who has a clean stroke. He can dribble drive for a score but is clearly best off the catch currently. He plays a smart floor game and you rarely see him take a bad shot.
Ryan Burbach Ryan Burbach 6'3" | SG Brophy Prep | 2025 State AZ Brophy Prep (UH Elite 15 UAA Rise)
A scoring guard who is a lean shooter had somewhat of a slow start but he got comfortable quickly. He has very long arms and tips many passes with his length. He has deep 3pt volleyball range and lets it fly with confidence.
Kylen Bonner Kylen Bonner 6'1" | SG San Tan Charter | 2025 State AZ San Tan Charter (UH Elite 15 UAA Rise)
A new one for me is from the 2A small school. He averaged an impressive 10 ppg as a freshman. He is active on defense with good quickness and the shooting guard can hit the three with some consistency.
