Last year this Philly Pride National squad finished the Spring / Summer 2021 grassroots circuit at the top of our southeastern Pennsylvania 15U rankings.
The majority of that extraordinarily talented roster returns for the 2022 grassroots season. Plus, Head Coach Brandon Williams has added three new prospects that will provide further size, perimeter shooting and elite guard play. In short, Philly Pride National 16U projects as a grassroots circuit beast again this year.
Below is a review of the 2022 Philly Pride National 16U roster, including insights from coach Williams on the newcomers.
Returners

Moravian Prep | 2024
State
NC
– 5’9” / Lampeter-Strasburg / Combo Guard: Burton’s speed, off the dribble scoring and ability to splash threes from way downtown produced a monster 2021-22 high school season for him. Burton racked up four 30+ point games while leading L&S to an undefeated regular season, the Lebanon-Lancaster League tournament trophy and the District 3-5A title. Burton was the unanimous choice for L-L League-Section 3 Player of the Year. He holds an offer from Manhattan.

#254
Nation
NY
– 6’10” / Elizabethtown / Center: This athletic, double-double machine runs the floor like a wing and can operate in tight spaces like a guard. Gilhool (14 ppg. & 10 rpg.; 60% on FGAs) can also bang on the interior where he finishes through contact with both hands. Lastly, Gilhool will drain the occasional three ball. His 28 points and 17 rebounds performance in a win over Hempfield was a dominant individual effort. With his size, speed and coordination, Gilhool is a fierce rebounder and tremendous shot blocker.

Friends Central | 2024
State
PA
– 6’2” / Friends Central School / Combo Guard: With his speed, shiftiness, and circus handles, Oshodi has always been a legitimate off the bounce scoring threat. However, this past season at Friends Central, “Faz” displayed a more well-rounded skill set. Throughout 2021-22 he improved his 3-point shooting to the extent where opponents could no longer sag off him. Additionally, “Faz” learned to excel in ball screen / pick-n-roll action. This winter he averaged 12 ppg. with a season high of 21 points. On defense “Faz” developed into a standout who ranked second in steals for FCS.
Nelson Lamizana

West Chester Henderson | 2024
State
PA
– 6’6” / West Chester-Henderson / Small Forward: Lamazina is long, athletic as hell and can run the floor. That combination enables him to get out on the fast break and finish with authority. Lamizana (11.4 ppg. & 4 rpg.) competes hard on the glass and frequently converts on second chance scoring opportunities. This winter Lamizana displayed an improved mid-range game. At the other end Lamizana is an intimidating rim protector. He also does an impressive job of rebounding and then executing clean outlet passes that trigger fast breaks.
Jeremiah White

Imhotep Charter | 2024
State
PA
– 6’6” / Imhotep Charter / Wing: White missed the 2021-22 regular season as well as Imhotep’s run to the 6A state title because of a lower left leg injury. Still, this athletic wing with an endless motor will be major part of ‘Tep’s quest to repeat next year. That motor combined with his long wingspan, quick second jump and great basketball instincts enable White to be an elite rebounder. White has the skills to convert offensive rebounds into points, especially with a flush on an opponent’s head. White possesses great hands so he can also slash to rim for a catch in traffic and then a lay-in. Lastly, White is a daunting shot blocker.

Malvern Prep | 2024
State
PA
– 6’1” / Malvern Prep / Point Guard: This wiry and elusive scoring point guard can light up an opponent in numerous ways. When out in transition Williams scores with ease. In the half court, he can score off the bounce, via catch and finish slashes to the rim and by splashing three balls. Williams owns excellent instincts for the game, so he knows when to facilitate for others too. This season Williams led the Inter-Ac in scoring at 18 points per game and was a 1st Team All Inter-Ac selection. He helped push Malvern Prep to the 2nd round of the state tourney where the Friars nearly upset national powerhouse Westtown. Williams holds an offer from Temple.
Newcomers
Greg Guidinger
Greg
Guidinger
6'6" | SF
Central York | 2024
State
PA
– 6’6” / Central York / Small Forward: Guidinger’s biggest asset is his ability to space the floor with his high percentage three-point shooting. However, he is much more than just a spot up shooter. Guidinger’s solid handles allow him to put the ball on the deck and get to the mid-range or the cup. When he gets into the paint, Guidinger can finish with either hand. This long and athletic prospect is an excellent rebounder at both ends of the court. This season Guidinger averaged 20.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. That stat line made him a 1st-Team All-York Area selection. Guidinger holds an offer from Univ. of Toledo.
Coach Williams says: GG gives us an inside/outside scoring threat. Elite shooter. Really good feel for the game and great energy. He is not afraid to communicate on both sides of the ball which you do not see a ton of amongst high school kids these days.
Jamel Lindsey
Jamel
Lindsey
6'6" | SF
Holy Ghost Prep | 2023
State
PA
– 6’6” / Abraham Lincoln / Wing: Lindsey is an athletic scoring wing prospect who can hit shots from all over the floor. For college coaches his most intriguing skill set may be his ability to play as a stretch-4 (Shot 44% on threes this past winter.). Lindsey is a fearless kid who plays with a bit of an edge. His wingspan and hops enable him to be a force on the glass at both ends of the court. During the 2021-22 season Lindsey posted 17 points and 9 rebounds per game.
Coach Williams says: No nonsense, straight to business type of guy. Competes extremely hard. He will probably be one of the leaders on the team when it comes to getting “tough 2s”
Toby Ojukwu – 6’2” / Roman Catholic / Combo Guard: This versatile backcourt prospect started every game and was a major contributor for the PIAA 6A state champions. Ojukwu spent the bulk of his minutes playing off the ball as lethal 3-point option for Roman. However, he did a tremendous job filling in as Roman’s primary ball handler when Xayvier Brown (top 2023 point guard prospect) was out with an injury. During the 2021-22 season Ojukwu hit for 8.5 points and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting 39% from three. As a nice bonus to his offensive skills, Ojukwu is a menacing on-ball defender.
Coach Williams says: Elite floor general who is going to turn some heads this spring. Has a gift for getting two feet into the paint and rarely turns it over. A seasoned kid who is not afraid of the big stage.
