Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
With North putting extra attention on defending the rim, Blake’s ability to stretch the floor was key for Washburn. When the defense would collapse inside, Blake was finding space on the perimeter and constantly had his hands and feet ready to catch-and-shoot before the defense could close out. His shot was going up with confidence, and it led to a 24 point performance in a key win for Washburn. Blake provides an additional ball-handling option for this team as well, and at 6’4 with some athleticism he’s capable of guarding a handful of spots on the defensive end of the floor.

In a key conference matchup, Blake stepped up in a big way for Washburn. The 6’4 guard caught fire from beyond the arc, and ended up finishing the game with 25 points. At 6’4 he’s able to spend some time handling the ball to help break a press, can guard multiple spots because of how well he moves at that size, and is a big time floor stretcher with his range beyond the arc. Outside of knocking down threes Blake was able to get out in the open floor and utilize his length and athleticism to convert on a couple of transition finishes.
