Rob Issa of Holy Angels (2022 forward). The Stars beat Fridley by 16 over the weekend and last night knocked off rival Richfield by 19 points. At the heart of it was one of the top up and coming names in the senior class, 6’4/6’5 forward Rob Issa. The explosive Issa had back to back 31 point games and last night had a double-double as he continues to make the state take notice.
Boden Kapke Boden Kapke 6'11" | C Holy Family | 2023 State #153 Nation MN of Holy Family (2023 big). The Fire are growing and playing good basketball. They’ve defeated four of the last five games and beat some respectable names. Kapke had 37 points last night helping Holy Family beat Breck 70-64. Boden recently had 28 to beat Breck and 30 points in a three score loss to a very good Albany team.
Ahjany Lee Ahjany Lee 6'9" | C Byron | 2022 State #145 Nation MN of Totino-Grace (2022 big). Ahjany Lee Ahjany Lee 6'9" | C Byron | 2022 State #145 Nation MN has the potential to be an elite rebounder. We have seen it before and Armstrong saw it last night. The UST top 150 level national talent had 19 rebounds in last night’s Eagle win over Armstrong. Ahjany also scored 17 points making nearly every shot he took. A dominant inside performance. Plus, Patrick Bath Patrick Bath 6'9" | C Totino Grace | 2023 State MN played well again scoring 17 as well.
Tate Olson Tate Olson 6'5" | SF New York Mills | 2022 State MN of New York Mills (2022 guard). The top ten ranked New York Mills squad faced a tough Henning team and won 58-56. Olson scored 27 points upping his scoring average to 26 points a game this season shooting an incredible 64 percent despite getting all the attention! He’s made 39 percent of his threes despite all that attention. Throw in 11 boards and six assists a game and you have a Class A All State candidate.
BJ Omot BJ Omot 6'8" | PF Mankato East | 2022 State #231 Nation MN of Mankato East (2022 wing). We will have more about BJ in our Five Things to Know this afternoon, but BJ Omot BJ Omot 6'8" | PF Mankato East | 2022 State #231 Nation MN was an unstoppable force Tuesday night. Mankato East beat their rivals Mankato West in the Taylor Center 62-51 and Omot was constantly on the move. He scored 26 points with nine rebounds on 12 of 15 shooting and nearly every score Omot had was one producing at the rim.
Samuel Rensch Samuel Rensch 6'6" | SF Hutchinson | 2022 State MN of Hutchinson (2022 wing). Making his return to top performances, Samuel Rensch Samuel Rensch 6'6" | SF Hutchinson | 2022 State MN . A big reason that Samuel keeps returning is his record book chasing. He’s now the all time leading rebounder at Hutch. Samuel is chasing that all time leading scoring mark. Last night Sam scored 43 points and broke a 53 year old game high scoring record (held by R Rasmussen). Most important Hutch is 8-4 on the season and teetering on being a top ten team in Class AAA.
