The 4th Annual I Have A Dream MLK Challenge will take place January 14th-17th at Somerset Academy Pines. The 29-team field will feature some of the best teams and players in South Florida.

This is a very talented field in one place. You have D-1 talent all over the map. The event is run by Marcus McGee.

Check out these players...

Dylan Rogers - St. Andrew’s

The Scots have done a great job this season with a trio of players in double-figures. One of those kids is 6-foot-8 Dylan Rogers. The power forward is averaging 13.7 points, 8.9 rebounds and two blocks per game. Rogers has a double-double in four games. Against Benjamin, he had 15 points and eight rebounds while blocking eight shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="956772" first="Levertis" last="Williams"] Jr. - Florida Chrisitan

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="956772" first="Levertis" last="Williams"] Jr. has been solid for the 10-6 Patriots. The 6-foot-2 guard is averaging 12.8 points and team-best 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. Against Dillard, Williams Jr. had 23 points and three 3-pointers while shooting 62 percent from the floor overall. In another outing against Pembroke Pines Charter, he finished with 22 points and ten rebounds. Fellow seniors [player_tooltip player_id="829513" first="Nicholas" last="Mate"] and [player_tooltip player_id="814930" first="Jose" last="Amat"] III have combined for 93 3-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id="955774" first="Kolby" last="King"] - Pembroke Pines Charter

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955774" first="Kolby" last="King"] is one of the best players in this field. The 6-foot-2 guard is averaging 17.5 points per game for the 10-2 Jaguars. King can razzle-dazzle his way into the lane on a consistent basis. He played well in the Iolani Classic (Hawaii) and is a St. John’s commit. Watch out for fellow seniors and double-figure scorers [player_tooltip player_id="1065434" first="Caelum" last="Ethridge"] (13.5 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id="829396" first="Geoffrey" last="Sprouse"] (12.7 ppg) as well. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829389" first="Elijah" last="Wyche"] is just under with 9.9 points per game. Point being, Pembroke Pines Charter has a lot of weapons.

Khalil Volel - Mater Lakes Academy

2024 Khalil Volel can really shoot and carry the Bears over stretches. The 6-foot shooting guard is shooting 46 percent from deep. Volel has made two or more 3-pointers and shot 40 percent or better from the perimeter in six games. He could be a kid to watch as he develops the rest of his game. As I’ve said in the past, Mater Lakes Academy is on the rise.

[player_tooltip player_id="1062420" first="Noah" last="Kattan"] - Cypress Bay

Back on January 6th, Kattan helped Cypress Bay to a huge upset over Pembroke Pines Charter. The 6-foot-3 guard scored 19 points in that contest. Kattan can stretch the floor and put the ball on the deck when necessary. He has helped Cypress Bay to a 10-4 overall record. Kattan holds a 4.1 GPA.
