Breaking down the top region in each classification.

Pace Academy is on the hunt for a three-peat but it won’t be easy. The toughest region in the classification by far, the Knights are likely still the team to beat come March. 6-foot-7 Cincinnati-signee [player_tooltip player_id="677695" first="Josh" last="Reed"] averages 21 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists while 6-foot-8 freshman Bryson Tiller has made an immediate impact posting 11 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks a night. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id="996829" first="Kyle" last="Greene"] has provided stability with 10.9 points and 6 assists while junior Kendall Evans (7.2 ppg), sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1054788" first="LJ" last="Moore"] (6.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg) and freshman Eric Chatfield (3.8 ppg) are important. Columbia actually clipped Pace Academy in their first meeting this year, a rematch of last year’s state title. [player_tooltip player_id="1011349" first="Mason" last="Lockhart"] is a punishing old school post presence while 6-foot-7 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1223239" first="Mekhi" last="Turner"] has a high ceiling. 6-foot-4 senior [player_tooltip player_id="1235948" first="Daquavious" last="Harrison"] is a big shooter and 6-foot-5 senior [player_tooltip player_id="1360556" first="Jamari" last="Piercy"] is a wiry lefthanded playmaker that is starting to come into his own. [player_tooltip player_id="820293" first="Rashad" last="Headges"] and Jaden Baugh are major athletes on the perimeter. It hasn’t clicked yet, but Washington is built for the future with a team loaded with individual talent. 6-foot-6, 240-pound sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1131771" first="Kameryn" last="Fountain"] passes the eye test immediately. The physical specimen averages 11.4 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.3 blocks. 6-foot-7 freshman Chane Bynum (10.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg) just picked up a Xavier offer while [player_tooltip player_id="1131778" first="Tyrek" last="Woods"] (10 ppg), Noah Treadwell (9.3 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id="1098678" first="Daylon" last="Johnson"] (8.4 ppg) round out an exciting 2024 class. Michigan-commit [player_tooltip player_id="1131770" first="Christian" last="Anderson"] is one of the top scorers in the country averaging 32 points per game as a sophomore for Lovett while 6-foot-5 junior [player_tooltip player_id="820317" first="Kyle" last="Walters"] pitches in 16.6 points and 9.9 rebounds. The senior core of MJ Matthews, Djibril Barry and Jacahri Clayton are dangerous for Therrell while South Atlanta turns to senior [player_tooltip player_id="1235947" first="John" last="Lawton"] to do a little bit of everything. KIPP Atlanta has competed well against bigger schools and has a breakout candidate in 6-foot-2 junior Malachi Harris.
