Expert Analysis
Cam Rickers | Prep Hoops Scout
We recently got the unfortunate news that Turner would likely miss the entire high school season but he did enough this summer to prove himself as one of the state’s best athletes. He’s developed rapidly over the past two years and now pairs the freakish athleticism with a low post game and decent jump shot. He’s headed to Kennesaw State next year where he’ll join forces with a handful of notable 2024 commits.

really blew up after a huge spring and called his recruitment off with a commitment to Kennesaw State in September. Turner now enters his senior year with a lot more confidence and a single goal of winning the state championship. Turner pairs high-level athleticism with some special insticts around the rim and he’s typically good for a handful of highlight plays each game. It’s obvious Turner has put a lot of work into his jumper and he’s now a respectable shooter from behind the three-point line. Maynard Jackson returns the core of Turner, Watkins, and Bowyer as they look poised to make a deep run.

has had a great couple of months with Wood Elite and he’s a name coming up in more and more conversations. 6’8 and extremely bouncy, Turner has great instincts around the rim. He’s also shown some comfort on the perimeter, shooting and handling the rock. Holds offers from Kennesaw State and Jackson State.

really had the opportunity to shine this year at Maynard Jackson and put up some impressive numbers consistently. Averaged 15 ppg and 12 rpg in a very tough region. He’s an explosive jumper off two feet and can finish contested dunks at the rim. Has shown stretch capabilities, improving jump shot. Defensively, he contests shots well and has a lot of upside as a rim protector.

has been putting the state on notice this year, proving to be one of the top forwards in Georgia’s 2024 class. Maynard Jackson seems to be a solid fit for Turner and I like what he’s able to do in their system. Turner loves to play above the rim and you can count on him for a few blocks and dunks each time out. He’s also shown the ability to step out and knock down the 15-footer consistently. As Turner continues to add to his low post game, he’ll become even more of an offensive weapon. The upside for Turner is crazy and he’s a guy who’s recruitment could really pick up soon.

joins a talented bunch at Maynard Jackson and fits into their scheme quite well. He provides size and scoring around the basket that they had previously lacked and should have room to operate as defenses will be forced to step out on Maynard Jackson‘s shooters. The move to Maynard Jackson could be very beneficial for both sides.
