Cedric Summerhill Cedric Summerhill 6'4" | PF Muscle Shoals | 2024 State AL 6’5 C/PF Muscle Shoals 2024
Summerhill is an old-school big with a no-nonsense approach. As a traditional 5, he commands the post and serves as a solid sixth man for the Muscle Shoals squad. He does an excellent job of positioning himself for entry passes. He constantly uses his strength to gain favorable positions and angles when backing down defenders. He has soft hands and rarely drops passes or rebounds even when he’s in congested spaces. Summerhill is a willing passer and does a wonderful job of accepting double teams and kicking it back out to shooters. Defensively, he boxes out well and contributes to defensive boards; he is also good on rotations and can vertically challenge shots when needed.
Brandon Foster 6’4 PF Hoover 2022
Foster is a high-energy player who does all the Bucs’ dirty work. He is a defensive anchor who contributes with great help-side defense and rim protection as she consistently challenges and contests a lot of attempts at the rim. He also shows a willingness to contribute on the boards and does a nice job hustling for rebounds even when out of position. Offensively, Foster plays his role by running with intention during the fast break and staying ready for dump-off passes when playing at the dunker spot.
Elijah Causly 6’6 SF/PF Florence 2023
Causly is a high-energy wing can defend multiple positions, rebound sufficiently, and make plays around the basket. He served as an immediate spark off the bench in a hard-fought victory over Muscle Shoals and was a crucial contributor to the cause. Causly uses his wingspan to protect the rim at a high level and effectively guard the perimeter and the post. He does a good job of doing his work pre-pass by denying position to post players and staying active throughout defensive possessions with his feet. Offensively Causly did a great job of taking high percentage shots. He’s a solid finisher around the basket who fight through contact and take advantage of mismatches whenever a smaller defender is on him.
Antonio Hardy Jr. 6’3 SF Autaugaville 2022
Hardy Jr is an aggressive shot creator who plays confidently and without a conscience. He works in perfect tandem with Jaden Nixon and utilizes his quickness, speed, and agility to score off the dribble. His fast release allows him to get off shots from deep whenever space is available; he also has the size to exploit mismatches and takes advantage in the paint whenever he sees one. He has a nice floater when attacking the rim, shows creativity at the basket, and agility to avoid defenders. Hardy is one of the more underrated scorers in the state when he gets rolling.
Collin Turner 6’9 PF/C Spain Park 2022
Turner is an efficient big man who can dominate the game with his size, skill, IQ, and athleticism. He does all the little things to contribute at a high level that might not make it on the stat sheet. He’s solid as a help defender and forces difficult attempts at the rim when protecting the paint; he uses his frame well when boxing out and high-pointing the ball for rebounds. He does an excellent job of rim running and sealing defenders to gain imperative advantages in transition. Turner operates well in a half-court offense by setting solid screens, securing dribble handoffs, and rolling to the basket with intent forcing the defense to account for his finishing ability at the rim.
