The Rockledge Raiders are off to a 16-7 run on the season while being led by senior University of Tampa commit Ryan Blount. The 6-6 combo guard has everything you want in a high upside college prospect. Blount has flashed a solid outside and midrange jumper throughout his career while also being able to score around the rim. He’s just an overall ball player. He also crashes the boards well and can score in transition. Blount has to get some love from in-state Florida schools looking to add an underrated piece.

The recent University of Tampa commit is set for another productive season. Blount stood out to me last year because of his length and athletic ability for a combo guard at 6’6 height who can score from deep range or get to his spots near the basket. The rising senior is a natural scorer that can get his with or without the ball and crash the boards for rebounds. Blount has been a riser playing for 1FamilyHoops during the off-season, where he’s flashed his good upside and basketball IQ for the next level. He also gets in the classroom with a 4.3 GPA.2022 stats: 20.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 steals

Ryan Blount, A 6-7 senior wing who transferred from Oviedo to Rockledge over the summer has continued to improve his playmaking skills. He is explosive in the open court on the offensive end where he can knock down shots at the rim as well as from the perimeter. His defensive mechanics have also continued to improve as he forces turnovers with rips and intercepting the passing lanes. Blount is also a great rim-runner for his size as well as an above-average rebounder. Expect Blount to have a big senior season this year.

6-6 CG (2024). The 6-6 senior guard comes to Rockledge from Oviedo where he was playing out on the wing, as he can be a multi-dimensional force this upcoming season for the Raiders. Blount can score on all three levels on the offensive end and dominate on the glass. He has the tendency on the defensive end to guard against mismatches with his quickness. Blount is a hidden gem prospect who should start gaining interest from college coaches once the high school season starts.

The 6-6 combo guard is coming off a pretty impressive summer for 1Family Hoops where he displayed his shooting touch on all three levels. Blount plays with a high IQ and has a tremendous feel for the game where he can get his teammates involved. On the defensive side, Blount is an underrated rebounder and seems to have a knack to find defensive lapses and take advantage of any mismatches to finish around the rim. Excited for Blount to continue to gain more interest from college coaches as he gears up for his senior season.

this weekend. It is very hard to have the role Blount has on his 1 Family team. Playing with high major talent, he does not get a ton of opportunity. However, the opportunity Blount did get, he made the most of it. In the semi-final game against the Las Vegas Knicks, he finished with 15 points, scoring inside the paint and hitting several three pointers. Blount has a really pretty outside shot, and has a nice frame to complement. He is a high IQ player with a tremendous understanding for the game. Blount is also an underrated rebounder, seeming to have a knack for knowing where the ball is going to come off of the rim. Just because Blount does not get starter minutes on the 1 Family team, does not mean he isn’t scholarship talent. I can see Blount fitting very well at a MM/high academic D1.

The 6-6 rising senior wing is a top-tier three level scorer who can facilitate as well. His ability to finish around the rim was exceptional as he finished with either hand at a high rate. Blount knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 34 points in a win over Boyd Anderson.

The 6-6 rising senior should start getting attention from college coaches in the not to distant future… Blount is very versatile on the floor and can score on all three levels. Blount finished with a game-high 24 points for Rockledge in a win over Osborne (Georgia) and had a couple breakaway dunks in transition. He also creates for his teammates whether it’s spacing the floor or limiting opponents from getting second chance scoring opportunities.

Came into tonight’s matchup with Blount circled as my must watch player. It seemed as if the Dreadnaughts had implemented the perfect defensive gameplan to slow him down in the first half with just 5 points being scored. It was in the second half in which Blount came out firing from deep, displaying his pure shooting stroke that the opposing Dreadnaughts had to adjust to. Blount led all scorers with 23 total points with more than a couple steals because of his longer frame. Blount impressed with good defensive anticipation and playmaking in fast break scenarios. He’s simply a lights-out shooter that has time to develop his overall game and really learn how to use his size to his advantage.
