Expert Analysis
Delon Bowen | Prep Hoops Scout
From the first game on, he put everyone on notice — he was going to be a problem all weekend. A strong, athletic forward who played with force and physicality, he got to his spots whenever he wanted. Excelled at getting downhill and finishing through contact, and also rebounded the ball very well on both ends of the floor.

He was arguably the most athletic forward in the gym during the tournament. A freakish athlete with explosive bounce, he operated well out of the high post and consistently made plays. He was a relentless rebounder on both ends, cleaning the glass with energy and physicality. He got downhill with ease and attacked the rim with purpose, using his high motor and athleticism to finish through or above defenders. His presence brought energy and toughness every time he stepped on the floor.

(Morgan Dawgs 17U) Guess imposed his will on the opposition from the opening tip. He set up shop in the paint and was very efficient. His strength was too much for the defenders, and he often finished through contact from multiple defenders. When he got the ball around the basket, he didn’t waste dribbles and went to work immediately,

Guess played very, very well on Tuesday night and did enough to give Warren Central a chance to win. The Warriors ultimately came up short, but it was for a lack of Guess’ determination and resilience around the basket. He always plays incredibly hard and is never afraid of physicality. On Tuesday night he led all scorers with 17 points while grabbing 6 rebounds. Guess is definitely one that college programs should still be considering.

Already an acclaimed football athlete out of the midwest, Guess displayed notably soft touch on shot attempts despite his physical frame. Standing right around 6’6, the wing brings in a college ready frame alongside a fairly wide reach. He found ways to pressure the defense primarily while attacking driving lanes, taking advantage of the rotating defense. Although, Guess contributed quite a few catch and shoot threes and pull-up jumpers out of the mid-range, bringing a bit more skill that initially met the eyes.

Known for his impressive blend of agility and physicality, Guess is a two-sport standout with opportunities to play at the next level in both football and basketball. This spring for George Hill All Indy, the 6’6″ forward has been excellent on the hardwood. He has such impressive footwork at his size showcasing the ability to relentlessly attack from the elbows, short corners, and when facing up out of the post. Then, he has the requisite strength to play through contact and finish around the basket. Guess is a very good rebounder at both ends of the floor as well. His strong play has already earned him an offer from Saginaw Valley State. Look for him to really clean up between the DII and NAIA levels heading into the summer.
