And though he says he may not play grassroots ball this spring and summer, he did say basketball is something he’d like to pursue over his other sport, football, at the next level.
“This year I might just work out because next year I’m going to be quarterback for football,” said Moore.
“But I do feel basketball is my main sport.”
Aside from the Division III interest, Moore mentioned that one area Division I program at least knows who he is.
“The University of Dallas has reached out to me a couple of times; it’s just been letters. My coach said that coaches from Southeastern (Louisiana) have asked about me, but they haven’t reached out to me or anything,” said Moore, who mentioned he’d be comfortable playing at at level.
“Whatever school wants me I want to play for that school. And whatever I can do and however I can do it, I’m willing to do.”
The 6-foot-1 junior went on to define his playing style to PHLA.
“I’d say my shooting off the dribble is definitely one of my strengths, and just getting everybody involved and always playing hard,” said Moore.
“I’m just working to fine-tune everything, and especially spot-up shooting. I’m just working to make everything a little bit better.”
So far this season for the Wildcats, Moore is averaging 11 points per game.
He explained what his role is with the team, and what the goals are moving forward.
“We have a pretty even scoring distribution on our team, but I just make plays when my team needs me to make plays, and scoring and keeping everybody involved is my role,” he said.
“Personally I just want to do whatever I can to help my team win. And the team goal is just to see how far we can make it in the playoffs.”
