At 6-7, 2018 Monroe prospect forward Colby Kyle loves to play defense, specifically block his opponents.
“I really pride myself on blocking shots,” Kyle said. “If I can block one or two shots early, then I have a mental edge on my opponents for the rest of the game.”
But Kyle isn’t only a shot blocker, he has an overall game that stands out. He describes himself as a versatile player, defensively and offensively.
Kyle has a knack for hitting short jumpers, but can also step out to shoot a three if he needs to. Another aspect of his game that he prides himself on is rebounding, which at 6-7 and long arms comes easily.
“I feel like some of my positives of my game are my athleticism, rebounding, shot blocking and my mid-range game,” Kyle said. “I feel like I need to work on my ball handling and strength to take my game to the next level.”
Kyle plans to play in college and has heard from multiple different colleges including; Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Eastern Washington University, University of Incarnate Word and University of Montana.
He says playing in WESCO is a great division to play in because it’s anyone’s league to win and anyone can beat anyone any night.
Kyle is currently averaging 14.5 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 2.2 steals per game this season.
