Let’s take a look at a few of the players that put together some impressive games as well as the players that showed some potential to be a prospect on the next level.
Bears 2022 Wing Tyrone Barbee Tyrone Barbee 6'6" | SF Lake Norman Christian | 2022 State NC is a prospect that is on the rise and has been one of the top performers during the Spring League week in and week out. His scoring ability was on display from start to finish in their matchup with The Rattlers as he went for a game high of 30 Points. Barbee has the size and skillset that schools at the Low Major/High D2 level should find intriguing in a prospect, he has the height at 6’5, can score the ball well and has all the tools to be an outstanding rebounder when he wants to be.
Hawks 2021 G/F Frank Waldeck had another solid week for his team, impacting the game in numerous ways besides knocking down shots and leading them in scoring with 20 Points. He rebounded the ball at a high rate and does a nice job of finding teammates with quick outlet passes after he grabs the board.
Hornets Guard KJ Brown didn’t necessarily have a monster game as far as stats go, but he’s a talented prospect with nice upside. He has a nice overall feel for the game, and doesn’t seem to overthink things on the court, making solid reads for the most part.
Bears 2024 Guard Samiir Gibbs Samiir Gibbs 5'11" | PG Harrells Christian | 2024 State NC was huge offensively for his squad in their matchup with the Hornets, dropping 27 points which accounted for almost half of the teams points on the night. He’s crafty with the ball, can knock down shots from deep and has only gotten better as a finisher in the paint over the last few years.
Hornets 2023 Guard Shane Hawkins will be a player to keep an eye on over the next few years as he continues to progress in his game overall. He put together one of the more efficient performances of the week, showcasing his smooth shooting form and making the most of the opportunities he had, scoring 28 Points for his team against The Hawks.
Rattlers 2023 Forward Abrahm Driver Abrahm Driver 6'7" | PF Bull City Prep | 2023 State NC is a prospect that we got the chance to see a few years back and his progress up to this point has been very impressive overall. One of the first things that you notice about him is that he competes and doesn’t back down from a challenge. From the start of the game he took his matchup personal but played to his strengths, attacking the basket and finishing with a team high of 25 points.
