About Moe: The son of former Hawkeye Jeff Moe made an immediate splash following his move from Indianapolis, going off for 41 points and 12 rebounds in the Trojans’ season-opening loss to City High last year. He’s a bouncy 6-9 combo forward who can score efficiently from all three levels, using excellent footwork and touch to finish at the rim, and a silky smooth stroke from the arc to stretch the floor. He’s a dominant scorer who will be looking to lead a proud West program back towards the top of 4A after a down year last season.
Why he can win Mr. Basketball: Moe might be one of the few players in the state who could average 28-ish points a game, which would certainly garner him plenty of attention. He’s an effortless scorer who plays for one of 4A’s most tradition-rich programs, and if he’s able to put up huge numbers while leading the Trojans back to glory, he’ll most certainly gather some momentum and be mentioned as a real candidate for this honor.
