Travis Green III Travis Green III 6'2" | SG Hazelwood Central | 2024 State MO | 6-2 | Brad Beal Elite
An eye-opening weekend from Green even for someone like me from out of the market, he was just special, you could call him a point-hybrid as he handled the ball plenty but scored at a clip from off the ball when playing with Jobe Bryant Jobe Bryant 6'0" | PG Park Hills Central | 2024 State MO that was equally impressive, tremendous athlete with all the foot speed in the world to blow-by you, explosive off the deck to the rim, he rebounded, led the break, scored off the break, defended with a serious fervor and shot the 3, it was the complete package on display.
Jobe Bryant Jobe Bryant 6'0" | PG Park Hills Central | 2024 State MO | 5-11 | Brad Beal Elite
Played better as the tournament wore on and by the time I saw him Sunday had firmly taken his place among the best PG’s on hand, natural lead guard instincts, quickness to burn and a fluid handle handling pressure or breaking down defenses, went from facilitator slyly setting up Beal’s endless array of bigs early in the weekend to scoring point man later showing off his deep range and slick moves to the goal, as said showed off his high ranking in the 2024 class.
Carlos Harris Carlos Harris 6'1" | SG Curie | 2024 State #283 Nation IL | 6-2 | Meanstreets
Powerful, running back-like frame and he used it as such to power his way to the goal, add to that a blurring quickness with the ball and it was something to watch, established himself right ff the bat against Brad Beal Elite Saturday as one of the best on-ball defenders as he went nose to nose with Jobe Bryant Jobe Bryant 6'0" | PG Park Hills Central | 2024 State MO and Travis Green, when sweet-shooting SG Karl Windham got it going on Sunday it gave Meanstreets one heck of a backcourt trio.
Antoine Glasper Antoine Glasper 6'0" | SG Collins | 2024 FL | 6-0 | Meanstreets
Didn’t have his best game when I saw him against Brad Beal Elite, but the talent and skillset were evident, like Beal’s Jobe Bryant Jobe Bryant 6'0" | PG Park Hills Central | 2024 State MO and Travis Green is today’s quintessential lead guard with that exciting combo of speed with the ball, keen vision, long-range shooting, and downhill excellence to the rim, add to that a defensive on-ball intensity and it was easy to see why he’s as highly regarded as he is.
Jordan Lomax | 6-1 | INB 2024 Platinum (pictured above)
Put on one of the weekend’s most decisive and entertaining scoring performance with his 31 points Saturday against IBA Illinois Stars Englemann, there wasn’t much in his arsenal he didn’t display – long-range shooting 3 steps past the arc with both off the push pull-ups and step-backs off the dribble, a smooth, advanced handle he used to both attack and break pressure, all the internet-fun flair getting to the basket for scoops and reverses, finished off the break and moving without the ball in the halfcourt, scored through contact at the cup, and oh-by-the-way, was terrific on defense with great hands and sharp instincts stepping into passing lanes, a wow weekend for the freshman.
Payton Kamin Payton Kamin 6'7" | SF Worcester Academy | 2025 State New E | 6-4 | Team Ten Jabari Parker
Plays an old school type of game which was particularly appealing to this old school Scout, just love how he looks to create from multiple levels with the eye of a well-schooled veteran, got his deuces with a variety of floaters and soft kisses off the glass almost always seeking to get them off before the defense could react, as crafty an all-around 2024 as I’ve seen so far in any state, great size at 6-4 allows him to shoot over smaller players from range and can use that length to get to the rim if he wants to go the full way, a good-looking SG prospect.
Harleeem Trammell | 5-9 | Pride Roc Bynum
Physical PG who showed a wide-ranging game of 3-point shooting, high IQ distribution, excellent finishing in traffic and through contact, and top-notch on-ball defending.
Jaxon Hornby | 5-10 | Wisconsin Academy Kimmel
The complete package of an athlete and ballplayer – speed, strength, court savvy, finishing ability in close, court vision, heady defends and rebounds like a 6-4 forward, teamed with diminutive but feisty PG Carter Scholey (31 combined pts) to form a fun and effective backcourt combo in their exciting Sunday win over Illinois HoopStars Dale.
Aminu Habib Aminu Habib 5'7" | PG Curie | 2024 IL | 5-10 | Illinois HoopStars Dale
Ended up right there with Jordan Lomax for scoring performance of the weekend with his 33 points from all over the floor against Wisco Acad Kimmel, he had it all going in that game with step-back 3’s, tough fights to the rim through traffic, sweet crossover attacks to the mid-range, and transition buckets in droves, as a scoring PG with control of the ball the entire game there wasn’t a more dynamic overall scoring display than that put on by Habib.
Dekwon Brown Dekwon Brown 6'4" | PG Simeon | 2024 #273 Nation IL | 6-3 | Team Rose
By the time Sunday rolled around Team Rose had only 6 players on hand so unfortunately I didn’t get to see them with a full complement, but Brown stood out with his size and strength and incredible speed bursts up the floor, hurt his leg late in the game with Brad Beal Elite but was impressive getting at the basket and absorbing a ton of contact from their bigs prior to that.
Larenz Walters | 5-10 | Old Gold
Had an impressive-looking 18-pt performance in a tight OT setback to Rush Academy Sunday, physical to the basket he also showed a soft touch from past the arc, handled the ball primarily but slid off the ball at times to catch and attack from the wing when they needed a big bucket, teamed with Demontae May to form a nice combo of scorers for Old Gold.
