The All Ohio Hoops Showcase features two locations and 13 total games. In this article I’ll be highlighting some players to watch at the Pickerington Central location of the showcase.

UPDATED SCHEDULE IS NOW POSTED

Reynoldsburg Vs Bishop Hartley 10:00 AM

Reynoldsburg is currently in a rebuilding stage, bringing in a new head coach and trying to adjust after losing [player_tooltip player_id="717039" first="Cooper" last="Davis"] to Olentangy Liberty. [player_tooltip player_id="1045461" first="Julian" last="Heckman"] could be given the keys to the offense entering his Junior year, while Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="922600" first="Jabari" last="Mitchell"] is a name to watch for the future. Bishop Hartley is led by a duo of [player_tooltip player_id="921787" first="Amari" last="Gaston"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1078992" first="DJ" last="Donnell"]. With those two back for the Hawks alongside Will Miller, expect Hartley to be competing for a conference title this season.

Africentric Vs Worthington Christian 11:45 AM

[caption id="attachment_954748" align="alignleft" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="922605" first="Dailyn" last="Swain"] is one of the top Sophomores in the state[/caption]

This game features a lot of talent at the guard positions. For Africentric it starts with senior [player_tooltip player_id="805210" first="Eli" last="Burke"]. Burke is a very explosive point guard who has seen his stock increase this summer, gaining offers from D2 programs. Junior [player_tooltip player_id="809627" first="Dan" last="Wagner"] can really shoot the ball and Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="922605" first="Dailyn" last="Swain"] is one of the highest upside prospects in the class. For Worthington Christian, Liberty commit [player_tooltip player_id="809594" first="DJ" last="Moore"] is what makes this team go. His patient style is advanced beyond his years and his self-creation has taken a significant step forward this summer. Alongside Moore are senior forwards [player_tooltip player_id="805209" first="Kobe" last="Buford"] and [player_tooltip player_id="805206" first="Isaiah" last="Hazelwood"] providing size in the paint. Wing [player_tooltip player_id="805179" first="Tyler" last="Kindberg"] is a sleeper senior to watch out for as well.

New Albany Vs Massillon Jackson 1:30 PM

This game was originally supposed to be New Albany Vs Beechcroft, but now it will be Massillon Jackson facing off against New Albany. [player_tooltip player_id="921763" first="Justin" last="Perry"] is a name to watch for New Albany, while Massillon Jackson has a lot of young talent like Owen Woolbert and Hunter Geissinger.

Walnut Ridge Vs Chaney 3:15 PM

Walnut Ridge graduated a ton of talent from last years district championship squad, but they do return [player_tooltip player_id="1041815" first="Leon" last="Douglas"] who could shine in a more prominent offensive role. For Chaney, [player_tooltip player_id="1041443" first="Quincy" last="Jones"] has a ton of athleticism and could be a match-up problem with his speed for opposing bigs. Expect a physical contest in this one, and maybe find a sleeper who hasn’t been given a stage like this to shine yet in their careers.

Taft Vs St Francis De Sales (Toledo) 5:00 PM

[caption id="attachment_880961" align="alignright" width="185"] [player_tooltip player_id="805200" first="Cliron" last="Hornbeak"] exploded onto the scene this summer[/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="867936" first="Rayvon" last="Griffith"] is the headliner for this one as the Sophomore wing is one of the most talented players in the state. Taft lost a lot from last years team, so it’ll be interesting to see who is the Robin to Griffith’s batman this season. As for St Francis De Sales, [player_tooltip player_id="805200" first="Cliron" last="Hornbeak"] had maybe the biggest rise of any senior this summer. They also have uncommitted seniors in [player_tooltip player_id="918996" first="Carsten" last="Mayes"] and [player_tooltip player_id="805207" first="Feisal" last="Crumby"], plus Junior [player_tooltip player_id="921756" first="Martin" last="Beredo"].

Newark Vs STVM 6:45 PM

STVM is highlighted by a 1-2 punch of [player_tooltip player_id="593905" first="Malaki" last="Branham"] and [player_tooltip player_id="787627" first="Sencire" last="Harris"] that could compete with any in the midwest. Alongside those two are [player_tooltip player_id="809600" first="Ramar" last="Pryor"] and Sophomores [player_tooltip player_id="867952" first="Darius" last="Stratford"] and [player_tooltip player_id="867938" first="Lance" last="Hayes"]. [player_tooltip player_id="919005" first="Austin" last="Rayman"] is their notable uncommitted senior, a knockdown shooter who has become more confident as a ball-handler. For Newark, they won’t go down without a fight as they are one of the most successful programs in Ohio. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id="919013" first="Kade" last="Bafford"], [player_tooltip player_id="919039" first="Drew" last="Ballinger"] and [player_tooltip player_id="967135" first="Elijah" last="Hinton"] will have the experience to have the Wildcats ready for anything this season.

Beechcroft @ Pickerington Central 8:30 PM

For Pickerington Central, 2023 prospects [player_tooltip player_id="867951" first="Devin" last="Royal"] and [player_tooltip player_id="867953" first="Sonny" last="Styles"] have a ton of upside. Senior [player_tooltip player_id="805144" first="Elhadji" last="Thiam"] is one of the top uncommitted seniors in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="867940" first="Gavin" last="Headings"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1082238" first="Josh" last="Harlan"] are two other notable prospects on Pickerington Central. For Beechcroft, they are headlined by Juniors [player_tooltip player_id="921776" first="JJ" last="Simmons"] and [player_tooltip player_id="967166" first="Amani" last="Lyles"]. Beechcroft is now facing the Tigers after Buchtel had to be removed from the event due to Akron Public Schools winter sports mandate.
