Expert Analysis
Ross Van De Griek | Prep Hoops Scout
Bureau, A 6-0 senior guard can score and distribute the basketball at a high level where he has great success finishing at the front of the rim. His court vision has also continued to impress me as he is an excellent passer at finding open teammates in the perimeter. He shows great promise on the defensive end where he can jump passing lanes turning defense into offense as he gets the basketball quickly in transition off steals.

The 6-0 senior point guard plays with a great IQ and feel for the game on the offensive end. Bureau continues to be a proven scorer on all three levels as well as create separation on his jump shot. On the defensive end, Bureau has continued to show his quickness while guarding on-the-ball and shows a lot of energy in the passing lanes where he gets his hand in for tips and deflections. Bureau is also an above-average rebounder for his size where he uses his athleticism and is quick to get the basketball out in transition. He has continued to gain more confidence in finishing above the rim as well over the summer and in the early stages of fall. Bureau transferred from Suncoast to independent Calvary Christian Academy over the summer.

The 6-0 guard is a well-rounded player who continues to get better and stronger on the attack. Bureau is a traditional three-level scorer who can also use his athletic frame finishing at the front of the rim against bigger defenders. On the defensive side of the basketball, Bureau is a great on-the-ball defender as well as explosive when he is on the glass as he can rebound with the best of them. Bureau also plays with a ton of physicality where he frustrates the defenses with his ability to get downhill.

The 6-0 point guard is a floor general whether it’s his scoring or passing he is making the right plays. His defense is also very underrated as his lateral movement and quickness made it hard for opponents to score on him. He is also one of the best shot blockers in the state for his position and size. Look for his recruitment to heat up as we gear into the spring and summer. Bureau averaged 13.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 4.3 steals per game for Suncoast this past season.
