Prep Hoops Florida is your 365 day a year source for all things high school and grassroots basketball. This week we will be headlining the top uncommitted seniors by position, starting with the top five point guards still looking for a place to call home for the next three-four years.
Stone Bureau, A 6-0 point guard might be one of the top uncommitted point guards in the state as he displays a lot of craftiness on the floor. He can score and distribute the basketball at a high level where he has great success finishing at the front of the rim. His court vision has also continued to impress me as he is an excellent passer at finding open teammates in the perimeter. He shows great promise on the defensive end where he can jump passing lanes turning defense into offense as he gets the basketball quickly in transition off steals. Look for Bureau to have a promising senior season as he transferred from Suncoast to Calvary Christian Academy over the summer.
Highlights
Ta’veon Jones
Ta’veon Jones
No matter the size or skillset, Ta’veon Jones shows a lot of toughness and quickness on the offensive end of the floor where he can finish at the front of the rim or knock down shots from beyond the arc. He has a smooth handle on the offensive end and can initiate any offense with his playmaking abilities and outstanding court vision. On the defensive end, Jones plays with a lot of swagger and has great footwork showing a ton of activity in the passing lanes as well as an above-average rebounder for his size.
Trey Murray, A 6-2 senior guard can do it all on the offensive floor whether it’s scoring through traffic or shooting the basketball well from beyond the three-point line. Murray is a reliable ball-handler who doesn’t force many mistakes on the offensive end where he can distribute and initiate the offense. He is coming off a stellar junior season where he averaged near 27 points per game and was named to the All-State 5A team.
Ameer Ramadan, A 6-0 point guard is a pure lefty who can make plays happen across all three levels whether it’s his sweet shooting stroke or his ability to facilitate for his teammates. Ramadan plays with great size and has above-average athleticism where he can rebound efficiently from the guard position. He also has one of the highest assist-to-turnover ratios among point guards in the state and should have an efficient senior season. Ramadan currently holds an offer from Edward Waters University.
Highlights
Caleb Williams, A 6-1 senior point guard shows a ton of toughness on the offensive end of the floor where he can be a bruiser at the front of the rim or be dangerous from the perimeter. He has become an elite decision maker when he has the intangibles on whether to shoot versus pass the basketball. On the defensive end, Williams has grown to be more versatile where he can guard multiple positions as well as impact the game with his activity when guarding on the ball. Williams currently holds an offer from Alcorn State, but you can expect that list to grow as he gears up for his senior season.
