The Film Room: 2023 Prospects
With no spring and little summer basketball, countless young prospects remain unknown. Today I wanted to do a deep dive into the prospects across the state by reviewing their season-long highlight tapes and giving my evaluation of their strengths as a prospect along with looking how they project long term. Here is our Film Room: 2023 Tennessee Prospects!
Kai’Seanne Brashear Kai’Seanne Brashear 6'2" | SG Spring Hill | 2023 State TN (Spring Hill)
Brashear stands 6’1″ and plays with an uncommon fire. His abilities, which are currently average for a Top 100 player in 2023, are augmented by the emotional and physical investment with which he plays. Brashear, as they say in football, “plays to the whistle” and gives not an inch on the court. There is a bulldog aspect to his tenacity and that will carry him further than similarly-skilled players. Regarding his skill, Brashear is currently a serviceable outside shooter with a arduous shooting motion in need of simplification. Still, there is a foundation on which to build. He can hit the open shot and handles well enoguh to get into the lane. NAIA floor.

Dennis Lewis Jr. Dennis Lewis Jr. 5'8" | PG Brainerd | 2023 State TN (Brainerd)
Lewis Jr. is a crafty 5’7” left-handed guard that earned a roster spot with We Got Buckets 15u. Creates separation from defender adeptly. Will always be a shorter guard carving out his shot against foreboding defenders, so elite quickness will be key. Lewis Jr. definitely has the creativity to find his spots at the 15u level. Lewis Jr. has the ambition to reach his potential. Unafraid to put in the work.

Judah Sault Judah Sault 6'5" | SF Cleveland | 2023 State TN (Cleveland)
Excellent lateral mobility. Projects as a LM-MM wing guard. Sault’s natural defensive tendencies are encouraging. He seems keenly aware of what his attacker intends to do and Sault moves accordingly to deny or dissuade.

Jacob Page Jacob Page 6'2" | SG Ensworth (football) | 2023 TN (Ensworth)
The film starts off with a BANG, as Page pokes it through the tin on the run (0:09). Page is an exciting 6-foot-2 wing entering his sophomore season for Ensworth. The senior-dominated Tigers of EHS finished 2019-2020 with 20 wins and Page playing a significant part. Teammate Malik Dia Malik Dia 6'9" | PF Ensworth | 2022 State #210 Nation TN expects Jacob to play an enormous role this upcoming winter. Page’s ability to add good weight has him up to about 180 pounds. He will be playing football in this his sophomore academic year.
Seth Grandberry Seth Grandberry 5'11" | PG Lausanne | 2023 State TN (Millington)
Undersized guard, Seth Grandberry Seth Grandberry 5'11" | PG Lausanne | 2023 State TN plays fast and thinks faster. His ability to score in the lane will diminish as he gets older, largely because the sport favors the giants and college guard defenders tend to be brutal to underhanded layup offerings. Grandberry thrives in the open floor and would be a fine press-breaking lead guard beyond high school.
