After our series of articles on the Class of 2021 who should be valued, we now shift our attention to those in the Class of 2022 and those that need to be on the radar of college coaches.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these juniors the attention of prospective college coaches.
Raydden Grobe Raydden Grobe 6'2" | SF AHSTW | 2022 State IA – AHSTW
Leading scorer and rebounder Raydden Grobe Raydden Grobe 6'2" | SF AHSTW | 2022 State IA returns for AHSTW, and you can bet he will be looking for more in 2020-21.
The Vikings were stunned by Carroll Kuemper last year in a substate quarterfinal, ending their season early at 17-5.
Grobe averaged over 15 points and 5.5 rebounds a night, shooting nearly 46 percent from the floor with a team-high 44 made three-pointers. He also had 39 steals and 38 rebounds.
On the year, Grobe scored 334 points and hauled in 120 rebounds. He also added 13 blocked shots for the Vikings.
Gavin Smith – Audubon
Despite being just 6-foot and only a sophomore last year, Gavin Smith led Audubon in rebounding with 173 total boards and over eight per game. Nearly half of those came on the offensive end, as he also scored 164 points.
Smith added 16 assists and 10 steals for the Wheelers, shooting over 47 percent from the field. Look for an improved shot from long-range and better consistency at the free throw line for the youngster this winter.
Baker Lally – Logan-Magnolia
Class of 2022 prospect Baker Lally handled a little bit of everything for Logan-Magnolia last winter, scoring 156 points with 116 rebounds, 50 assists and 33 steals.
Lally, a guard, helped the Panthers win eight games and is one of three returning starters set to be back.
He shot 37 percent from the field and was second on Logan-Magnolia’s team with 27 made three-pointers.
Amos Rasmussen – IKM-Manning
Despite coming off the bench for much of the year, IKM-Manning’s Amos Rasmussen made an impact.
Rasmussen tallied 143 points with 59 rebounds, 26 assists and 18 steals. He knocked down 25 three-pointers, which ranked third on the team.
The Wolves have five players with starting experience coming back including Rasmussen.
Trent Hundt – Underwood
In just a dozen games as a sophomore, Underwood’s Trent Hundt was able to score 126 points with 44 rebounds, 19 assists, 10 steals and a couple of blocked shots.
Hundt shot nearly 49 percent from the floor and made 19 three-pointers. He also got to the charity stripe 22 times in those games, making nearly 60 percent of his attempts.
