About Alex
Expert Analysis
Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Olander was another impressive performer for the Wildcats as he finished with 14 points, a slew of rebounds and some emphatic blocks at the rim. He’s a bit undersized at the forward spot but his IQ and decision-making make up for it. He’s an unsigned senior for DII and DIII programs in the region to keep a look out for.

is a name who’s flown under the radar over the past few months as a new face in the Millbrook High frontcourt. He’s worked well alongside their other returning pieces to show he can be a presence on the scoring and rebounding front. He finished with 17.7 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 1.3 APG across their three games in the event. He’s an underrated scoring threat who’s really starting to find his confidence all over the floor with Millbrook High. He shot 62.5 percent from behind the arc and 58.3 percent from the floor despite his squad going 1-2 at this year’s John Wall Holiday Invitational. He’s a prospect for DII and DIII prospects to get eyes on with his abilities at the forward spot.

Olander did well to play a physical brand of basketball and kept himself involved in the game despite battling through foul trouble for most of the game. He came up big in the fourth quarter with seven points to pace the offense and show off his presence in the painted area. He’s a 6-foot-5 prospect for DII and DIII programs to get eyes on.

and Ravenscroft to be right back in the mix of things next season. Olander proved he is one the most versatile guys in the class of 2024 with a stellar junior year. He is one of the most athletic players in transition I’ve seen. He finds little cracks in the basket and explodes to the rim without hesitation. He has shown the capability to knock down big-time shots from behind the arc. On defense, he can use his frame to match up with and lock down 1-5. Great defensive rebounder. Fights through screens with toughness. With senior scoring leaders

leaving the program, expect Olander to take on more of a scoring role next season. Really excited to see what this guy can do running it back one more time with head coach Kevin Billerman and an always-disciplined Ravenscroft team.

leaving the program, expect Olander to have an even bigger presence as one of the go-to guys on this Ravens roster.
One of the most gifted on-ball defenders I’ve seen all year. At 6’4”, 215 lbs, his presence on the defensive end is what sets him apart. He’s got strength, he’s got speed, and he can channel these pieces of his game into orchestrating big-time plays on both ends of the floor. Can lock down 1-5 while staying out of foul trouble. Strong offensive rebounder that accounts for a ton of second-chance buckets. Grabs defensive boards with a purpose, and can get out in transition and to the rim. Takes pride in taking charge’s and diving for loose balls. He’s the type of overall competitor you want leading your ball club.
