Pocket City Fall League | Nets Team Preview

The Pocket City Fall League returns for its 14th year, continuing its tradition as the premier fall basketball league in Southwest Indiana. Each fall, the league brings together talented players and programs from across the area for quality competition and an early look at teams ahead of the high school season. 63 players across nine teams in the top division of the fall league. Here is the Team Preview for the Nets:    Long and lanky 6'6” Power Forward that had a small role on the varsity as a junior at Evansville Reitz, but due to graduation should get an uptick in role and production this season. Nolan Brigham is a high motor player whose impact will come more on the defense end. Seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Good rebounder and defender with active hands. Offensively, he's more of a garbage basket guy that will get his points off rim runs and offensive putbacks. Will be apart of one of the longer and more athletic front courts in the area even though it's one of the least experienced units in the area.     Arguably the top prospect in the entire Pocket City Fall League, [player_tooltip player_id='3254540' first='Grayson' last='Dease'] is a bonafide stud that makes the game look easy at times on the offensive end of the floor. The 6'6” 2029 Wing is as versatile of a scorer as I've seen this spring and summer. Really good shooter that can get into his shot off the catch or create space off the dribble and shoot it with deep range. Plays with a physicality on his drives where he can absorb contact while stay on balance and is a high level finisher around the basket. To round out making him a terrific prospect is his unselfishness and playmaking ability. Unreal feel on the offensive end with a high IQ and elite court vision.     Long and lanky 2028 Shooting Guard out Evansville Mater Dei that flat out shoots the cover off the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='2811841' first='Tanner' last='Foreman'] is a 6'4” two guard that can score it in a variety of different ways. Smooth stroke with deep range off the catch. Has also shown he's comfortable putting the ball on the floor and getting all the way to the rim or stopping and popping in the midrange. Has the frame to be disruptive on the defensive end of the floor. Long wingspan that can jump passing lanes and turn defense into offense in hurry. Should get varsity minutes this season for a good Evansville Mater Dei team.     A score first, second, and third kind of guard that can get hot in a hurry. [player_tooltip player_id='3343955' first='Dax' last='Kramer'] is best when he's off the ball where he can go make a play on the wing. He does a great job getting himself open. He's a good cutter and a crafty finisher around the rim. He does an excellent job utilizing ball fakes. Impacts the game defensively playing the passing lanes and getting steals. Pressure defender with quick feet and active hands. He gets a lot of deflections and he's off to the races running the floor well.     Talented 2029 guard out of Tecumseh that isn't the quickest, strongest, or most athletic player on the floor, but will have the highest IQ and makes his teammates better. An extraordinary passer that as he continues to grow will become more effective. His court vision is special. [player_tooltip player_id='2989747' first='Maddux' last='Miller'] is a pass first point guard that can throw teammates open. He's comfortable playing out of the pick and roll. He does a good job looking off defenders before creating looks for others. The jump shot is the big question mark in his game, but figures out ways to make winning plays without scoring.     The top player from a Tecumseh team that returns 100% of production from a season ago and is looking to win their first sectional since 2010. [player_tooltip player_id='2882777' first='Damon' last='Oxley'] is a skilled left handed guard that fills up the stat sheet. The perimeter jumper is streaky at times, but is capable off the catch when he's open. What makes him special is that he's able to impact games without scoring. Tempo pusher that does a good job seeing the floor and can put passes on teammates on time and on target. He's an opportunistic defender when it comes to playing the passing lanes and rebounds from the guard spot at a high level.     Physical 6'6” Forward from Evansville Mater Dei that has been making his rounds to numerous elite camps and to Prep Hoops: The Expo, and has been a standout everywhere he's went. [player_tooltip player_id='2889350' first='Luke' last='Richardson'] is a big framed forward with good footwork and hands that knows what to do when he gets it on the low block. Good athlete that can finish above the rim when given the chance. Also possesses a soft touch over left shoulder. Big time rebounder and throws his size around on the defensive end as a rim protector. Has the chance to be a key impact player for what will be a talented Evansville Mater Dei team.     Smaller guard that will be a veteran leader for what should be a talented Evansville Harrison team. [player_tooltip player_id='2470634' first='Ty' last='Speer'] is a 5'9” 2027 Guard that is comfortable playing on or off the ball offensively. Knocks down open catch and shoot 3's. The ball doesn't stick with him, and he has the ability to get to spots on the floor and create looks for others. He's been a productive starter for the Warriors since his sophomore season, and should see a bump in production in his last year of high school.     6'1” Shooting Guard in the class of 2029 that I haven't gotten to see live as of yet. Good size for his age and plays with an extremely high motor and does a good job of not forcing the issue and taking what the defense gives him. Looking forward to seeing more of Evansville Mater Dei 2029 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3788227' first='Reigns' last='Straus'] in the Pocket City Fall League.     Big time athlete transferring to Evansville Reitz from Forest Park, [player_tooltip player_id='3788228' first='Braydyn' last='VanWinkle'] will get his first real taste of varsity action this season. Long and athletic wing that has all the tools to be an impact player on both ends of the floor for the Panthers. Thrives in transition where he can get out in open space and use his athleticism. Finishes above the rim with authority any chance he gets. Has the makings of a lockdown defender. Still learning how to be a basketball player and not just an athlete, but once it clicks, the sky is the limit for him.
