Active hands helps him create havoc anytime he’s around the ball. Excellent in transition as a tempo pusher willing to make the advance pass. In the half court, he’s comfortable playing in the pick and roll and is aggressive when turning the corner with good court vision finding open shooters. Capable shooter, but wouldn’t say it’s his strong suit. Just a high motor high IQ guard that will be looked upon as a leader of a Harrison team that is looking to compete in 4A Sectional 16 this season.

Really quick and good instincts defensively, he’s an absolute pest on the ball with his pressure. Gets his hands on a lot of passes creating turnovers leading to transition looks. Excellent passer with good court vision. Comfortable on or off the ball, but is a steady playmaker that can get in the lane and finishes extremely well around the basket for his size. Expect his stock to continue to rise throughout the fall league heading into his senior season.

Smaller guard that will be a veteran leader for what should be a talented Evansville Harrison team. Ty Speer Ty Speer 5'8" | PG Evansville Harrison | 2027 IN is a 5’9” 2027 Guard that is comfortable playing on or off the ball offensively. Knocks down open catch and shoot 3’s. The ball doesn’t stick with him, and he has the ability to get to spots on the floor and create looks for others. He’s been a productive starter for the Warriors since his sophomore season, and should see a bump in production in his last year of high school.

Ty is a crafty veteran guard that is just steady in every game. The young Harrison Warriors have overachieved a bit this season behind their two freshman stars in Aiden Terry Aiden Terry 6'0" | PG Evansville Harrison | 2029 State IN and Romyiez Calvin Romyiez Calvin 6'5" | PF Evansville Harrison | 2029 State IN , but are looking for that consistent third guy, and the Warriors have a number of guys that could it. Choosng Ty in this situation is based off his experience in being a returning starter on a sectional championship team a year ago. He’s a calming presence that plays unselfishly and if left open he will make you pay from the perimeter.

Smaller guard with a high IQ that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Plays at his own pace. Really good pushing the ball up the floor in transition playing with his eyes up. In the half court he has a quick first step to get in the lane to facilitate to teammates. Capable three-point shooter, but he is the epitome of what a true point guard is. Defensively he’s able to pressure up full court and create chaos in ball handlers. He’s scrappy with quick hands when he goes to double team looking to turn defense into offense in a hurry.

There weren’t a whole lot of bright spots for Evansville Harrison on Saturday as they lost to Jeffersonville 65-40. However, Speer stepped up and scored 7 points in the game and appeared to be pretty comfortable handling the ball and operating offensively agains the otherwise overwhelming size, athleticism, and constant pressure of the Red Devils.
