High School Spotlight: Edgewood Mustangs

The High School Spotlight Series is back and we are excited to feature multiple teams throughout the state once again! The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Edgewood Mustangs.

Quick Hitters

Went 11-12 last season.

Lost to Cascade in Sectionals.

Head Coach Connor Basye starts his 1st year as head coach.

Should be much more improved team this season.

Top Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2622251' first='Caden' last='Jones']

To me, Edgewood is one of the more interesting teams in the state coming into this season. They did not have the best of years last season; however, they do have some strong talent across the board. Their most talented player is, without question, [player_tooltip player_id='2622251' first='Caden' last='Jones'], a 6'6" small forward who has athleticism, skill, and length. A fluid athlete who can knock down the outside jumper at a very high clip.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='3663503' first='Karson' last='Gladhill']

A guy who is looking to step up and provide high-level production in the paint for the Mustangs is [player_tooltip player_id='3663503' first='Karson' last='Gladhill']. He is a 6'6" big man who plays with a really high motor, rebounds well, and protects the rim. His offensive scoring is starting to come together, and if it does, Edgewood could be a sneaky Class 3A team to watch. Expect him to break out this season.

Other Key Roster Members

[player_tooltip player_id='2797141' first='AJ' last='Norris']

Żaden Norris

[player_tooltip player_id='2909816' first='Luke' last='Druckrey']

[player_tooltip player_id='2504141' first='Zane' last='Powell']

Cameron Christie

Drew Figg

Liam Newton

[player_tooltip player_id='2828444' first='Garrett' last='Brown']

Dylan Wickens

Lincoln Martone
