Fresno, CA - This past weekend, Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th, Clovis North hosted the Nike Fall Shootout, which featured teams from Fresno, Clovis, Bakersfield, Merced, Tracy, San Francisco, Folsom, Stockton, and Visalia in a Pool Play format on Day 1, followed by Bracket Play on Sunday. I was in attendance for both days and was able to cover a good amount of games before I headed out the gym Sunday early afternoon. This article takes a look at 8 standout senior guards from the class of 2027 that performed well at the Shootout, which will be followed by standout players from other positions and grad classes. In this article you will find the following information: the player's name, height, player position, current school they are attending, and the stats I kept from the event. We begin this article with a look at one of the top lead guards in NorCal, [player_tooltip player_id='2137370' first='Nick' last='Andreotti'].

The 6-foot-2 lead guard has shifty moves, can score in volume from various spots on the floor, and has range on the deep ball from beyond the arc. Andreotti was in his bag at the Nike Shootout in Fresno, as he made plays to get others involved, pushed the pace of play, and showed he is ready to lead this team as a primary scorer or playmaker, with a huge game against Clovis West in the game of the event, as he would finish with 25 points, connecting on a pair of threes in the process, and hit some tough shots all game long. Andreotti has dynamic handles, keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, the court vision and decision making to find open teammates off the drive and kick pass, to players on the dive out of the pick and roll action, or up the court off the glass, has active hands on defense to deflect passes, the lateral quickness to jump passing lanes, or the timing to poke the ball out to get the ball out in transition. Where Andreotti is at his best is when the 3-ball is falling and he is able to showcase the skill set, handles, and moves to create shots from 3-levels, using the crossover combos, hesitation, spin-move, fadeaway, and step-back jumper with good body control and accuracy from the mid-range to the 3-point line, and is a crafty scorer around the basket with the euro-step, up-and-under, and reverse lay-ups to evade shot blockers, with touch on the floater down the lane. He moves well off the ball to get to his shot spots and is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch.

The 5-foot-11 lead guard has the skill and athleticism that make him a tough player to defend, has blazing but controlled on-court speed with the ball in his hands, and displayed serious growth in his decision making and play making while still being able to play at the speed that gives him an advantage on the court. I did not keep stats for this game, but Bolden scored at least 15 points and had a handful of dimes minimum based on my notes, and he was one of the more electric lead guards at the Shootout, being the engine that will drive the Falcons this season. Bolden keeps the ball on a string, probes the defense to find openings to attack, has a variety of moves to shake his defender, using the crossover, wrap-behind, hesitation, fadeaway, toss-cross, and between-cross to create space from his opponent, has an elite burst of speed off the bounce to get by his initial defender, has great body control and court vision to make timely passes in tight windows off the drive and kick pass, to the diver out of the pick and roll action, cross court to open shooters, and up the court to advance the ball. Bolden has quick and active hands to deflect passes, lateral speed to jump passing lanes, and timely reactions to poke the ball out and create turnovers. Bolden is accurate with the jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line, scoring on or off the ball, and is a crafty scorer around the basket to score among height.

The 6-foot-2 point guard is a physical and skilled player that makes plays for others, plays at his own pace to control the flow of the game, can create his own scoring opportunities, and can score from 3-levels, which opens up options for him to create off the bounce. Harbin continues to show he has emerged as one of the premier point guards in the Section, as he is poised for a big senior season that was boosted by a D2 Section title and Player of the Game honors in that win to highlight his understanding of when to employ his playmaking skills, or when it is time to create his own shots. Harbin had his control of the flow of the game in a big win over Clovis East on Day 2 of the Shootout, where he would finish with 7 points, 8 assists, and a pair of steals to highlight his two-way impact on the game. Harbin has a strong handle on the ball, the poise to keep the dribble alive to find holes in the defense, the court vision and strength to zip the ball around the court to open teammates, to find open teammates off the drive and kick pass, to the diver out of the pick and roll action, cross court to open shooters, and up the court to get the ball to open players ahead of the defense in stride. Harbin has active hands, great lateral footspeed, and a quick twitch to deflect passes, jump passing lanes, as well as alter shots on the perimeter. Harbin has great body control, a plethora of moves to create off the bounce, and is accurate with the jumper, along with the creativity to score around the basket and evade shot blockers.

The 5-foot-11 point guard controls the pace of the game, has the moves to create his own scoring opportunities, and is an underrated on-ball perimeter defender that makes life tough for opposing guards. Johnson is coming off a great month of June with the Titans, followed by a productive July with Team Rampage, and has kept that level of play up throughout the Fall portion of the basketball calendar, highlighted by a 12 point and 6 assist game in a win over El Capitan of Merced. Johnson keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, has a tight handle on the ball to secure it from defenders reaching in, has the court vision to find players diving to the basket out of the pick and roll action, to open players off the drive and kick pass, cross court to open shooters, and up the court to teammates ahead of the defense. Johnson has shifty moves, using the crossover combos, hesitation, fadeaway, and spin-move to get space from his defender, is accurate with the jumper with great body control to connect on shots from the mid-range to the 3-point line, and is a creative scorer around the basket with the euro-step, up-and-under, and reverse lay-ups to evade shot-blockers. He has active hands, good lateral movement, and the timing to deflect passes or jump passing lanes, and gets into his opponents dribbling space to create turnovers.

The 5-foot-11 guard can score in volume from 3-levels, hunts his shot spots, and is clutch in key moments of the game, as was evident with his game winning jumper to lift his squad over Clovis East on Day 2 of the Shootout. Miller showed off his range and accuracy from beyond the arc with 5 threes in his team's win, accounting for 26 points and some elite shots making. Miller has dynamic handles, keeps the dribble alive to survey the floor, has a plethora of moves to shake his defender, using the crossover combos, hezzy, fadeaway, step-back, and spin-move to get space from his opponent, has good hang time and body control when in the air, is accurate with the jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line off the dribble, and is a creativity scorer around the basket, using the euro-step, up-and-under, and reverse lay-ups to score among height. Miller moves fluidly off the ball to get to his shooting spots, is a knockdown threat moving without the ball and off ball screens to get open, lets it fly when he gets open for the catch and shoot look, and opens up the court for him or teammates to attack off the wing. Miller has active hands, great instincts, and great court awareness to jump passing lanes, deflect passes, or poke the ball out to get out and run in transition. Miller is a high energy player that doesn't take plays off and is ready for the big moment in games.

The 6-foot-3 combo guard has the court awareness to run the offense, the shot making to score in volume from 3-levels, and the versatility to defend various positions. Parks has been one of the fastest rinsing prospects in the Central Section over the past year and he was looking to attack the basket on a regular basis on Day 1 of the Shootout, as Sanger was without standout senior forward Jordan Ruffin. Parks has a strong handle on the ball, keeps the dribble alive to find open teammates or get to his attack spots on the wing, has a variety of moves to create space from his defender, using the crossover, wrap-behind, hesitation, spin-move, and fadeaway to get by his initial defender, gets good lift on the jumper with body control to score through contact in the air from the mid-range area, and is a versatile scorer around the basket with the euro-step and up-and-under lay-ups, as well as the strength to bully through contact and score in close range. Parks moves well off the ball, gets to his shot spots, or uses the step-back, and is effective with the 3-ball off the catch or the dribble. Parks is active on the glass, gets points off missed shots, limits opponents to single shot possessions, has active hands on defense to deflect passes or jump passing lanes, and has the strength to hold up against bigger players on switches.

The 6-foot-1 combo guard makes plays for his teammates, can light it up from beyond the arc, and is a tough perimeter defender that plays with great energy and effort. Rochin had a great showing in one of the best games of the Shootout, as he would have a huge second half, scoring 13 of his 16 points after the break, connecting on 3 threes, in his team's tough 2-point loss to Liberty of Brentwood on Day 2. Rochin moves fluidly off the ball, gets to his shot spots, squares up, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch, has active hands on defense and the lateral quickness to jump passing lanes or deflect passes, and is a good positional rebounder that can push the pace of play in the open court. Rochin has the handles and moves to create off the bounce, gets paint touches routinely, makes good use of the pivot to find open players cutting off the ball, and has good body control on the jumper when in the air, from the mid-range to the 3-point line.

The 6-foot combo guard is a physical and skilled player that keeps relentless pressure on defense, is a crafty scorer around the basket among height, and is a solid perimeter defender. Zenn-Dash had a solid game against Clovis East on Day 2, with two huge and one buckets down the stretch to help his team keep a slight lead, finishing with 8 points. Zenn-Dash has a strong handle on the ball, the moves to create off the bounce, using the crossover, between-cross, hesitation, and wrap-behind to get space from his defender, has a solid burst off the dribble, has the strength to absorb contact when on the attack, and still finish on shots at the basket. Zenn-Dash gets good lift on his jumper, with the body control to square his shoulders up through contact, and still connect on the shot. He has good court vision, finds open players when attacking the basket, and is a tough on-ball defender that stays in front of his opponent to force turnovers.
