HENDERSON, Nev. — The Border League has become one of the premier fall high school and prep school basketball events in the country and the 2026 event lived up to the hype. More than 150 teams from across the country made the trip to Southern Nevada to participate in the three day event. We were in the gym from morning until night at the Henderson Sport & Social and Coronado high school locations and below is our takeaways of the event's most physical finishers with a mix of SoCal and National prospects.

Sanders is one of the best face-up drivers and finishers in Southern California as his combination of strength, ball skills and savvy footwork allows him to get to the rim and score with power or finesse. In the game we watched, the defense was pressured up on Sanders on the perimeter and the senior forward used that pressure against his opponent to drive into space. Sanders used his broad shoulders to initiate contact with defenders which created the space he needed to finish off the glass or with his floater.

Taylor has the skill-set of a throwback power wing whose ball skills, upper and lower body strength and ability to overpower defenders led to him earning countless scoring opportunities at the rim. The 6-foot-5 senior boasts a strong frame which he used to bully through defenders on drives but he also showed the perimeter fluidity and ball handling ability to blow-by defenders in isolation to get paint touches. Taylor is one of those prospects who looks to dunk everything around the rim and his physical and athletic traits allow him to do that consistently.

Leonard has that rare combination of explosive leaping ability with a frame and physicality that will allow him to transition well to the college level. The 6-foot-7 wing/forward was as high motor of a guy that we watched on the weekend and used that energy to impact the game as a transition slasher and finisher and strong downhill driver in half-court offense. Leonard can finish in a variety of ways around the basket: powering up through contact off of two feet, exploding to the rim off of one foot and by generating second chance points with offensive rebounds.

There aren't many high school prospects in the country with the body type and NBA-level athleticism that Jordan brings to the floor. The 6-foot-6 wing showed his quick and explosive first and second jumps which led to countless above the rim finishes on the weekend. Jordan was often met with multiple bodies trying to keep him out of the lane and off of the offensive glass but the five-star senior was unbothered by any contact when finishing around the rim.

Duncan provided a big spark off the bench for Spire which manifested in him slashing his way to the rim as a transition lane-filler and cutting in the 45's and on along the baseline to score at the cup. Duncan is a big time energy and motor guy whose boldness when attacking the rim led to power finishes in the lane and trips to the free throw line when drawing contact. Duncan's frame allowed him to stay on balance through contact and his body control led to him being able to maintain his line and finish through physicality.

Kamagate is a throwback finisher in the sense that he tries to dunk everything around the rim. His 7-foot frame and explosive athleticism give him the confidence to elevate and challenge anyone around the basket while his tendency to always finish with two hands lends to his consistency as a finisher when challenging shot blockers. Kamagate is an elite lob threat in transition and when rolling out of ball screens and spaces out to the dunker spot where he scored on dump-off passes.
