With the release of this latest batch of rankings the clock towards the next one at the end of the high school season begins. Players don't all develop at the same rate or the sane time, meaning rankings are by nature, a fluid exercise. With that in mind, here's five players who could see their stocks rise in the coming months and the case for each

Simply put, it's crowded at the top. Robinson's 3 spot "drop" if you can call it that, is way more about significant developmental jumps all made by the current top three over the last 8 months. A steady guard who is as dangerous off the dribble as anyone in the Northeast, Robinson's production and confidence hasn't waivered. On a new look Eagle Academy II team, Robinson will have plenty of other offensive weapons with him, allowing him to showcase more of his point guard skills than in his first season with the program. Another deep run (and a potential city championship) helps him continue to make that case.

After an extremely quiet high school season at Putnam Science and a quiet start to the AAU season- Etienne made a real jump in the summer. The 6-foot-11 forward started to play hard consistently, proving to be the top shot blocker on the MADE Hoops Circuit in he month of July. Playing in a deep front court at Darrow now, It will be interesting to see how much Etienne gets on the floor and what he does with his minutes. The talent he possesses is tantalizing, and if the flashes he showed in July were real- he will debut very high in the next update.

It's not just the top of the rankings that are crowded. Depending on the day, Realistically- the gap between 10 and 35 on this list is incredibly small. That being said, there will likely be plenty of 1-3 spot moves up or down for this group as a whole in the next update. 8 Players out of the 14 moved ahead of him were either not in the state or not in the class at the time of the prior update- speaking more to the quality of talent coming into the State. A shifty creator off the bounce, Yancey has looked more like a traditional lead guard and less like a scorer who wants to play on the ball. If that trend continues, he likely makes a rise back up.

A versatile defender with good size for the perimeter, Smalls is part of an upstart Notre Dame team that will challenge themselves in a real way with their move to the Prep ranks and the Elite Prep League. The 6-foot-5 guard has shown good vision throughout the fall to go with his defense, and is comfortable putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim or pulling up in the mid-range. As he expands his range as a shooter and his offensive repertoire overall, he should make a solid rise.

A big wing shooter, O'Meara will get a taste of real varsity minutes. His size and shooting touch are a perfect fit in a lineup that will value both. On an Iona Prep team that again has been hit by the transfer bug, the question is who steps up alongside seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2234419' first='Tommy' last='Wolf'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2234413' first='Mike' last='Kmetz']? O'Meara is uniquely fit to, and should thrive in the process
