With size, shooting ability, and room to improve, Lazarus could be among those players that finds himself with a lot of options. He might be one of the hardest players to stop in the region, and that versatility is what makes him tricky to defend. He gives Olympus an edge that nobody else has.

Joohnsen has gotten better over the past few years, and this past grassroots season he made some more strides toward becoming one of the best combo forwards in his class. Johnsen is a no-brainer next-level talent that could continue to grow. It would not be out of the question for Johnsen to end up being 6'6 by the time he sets foot on a college campus. He is a good defender and rebounder that has been shooting the ball well and he is tough inside on strong drives. He will require a good game plan to stop.

The 6-foot-9 forward/center has gradually grown into a bigger role for the Hawks, using his size and physical presence to make an impact on both ends of the floor. He had a solid club season and displayed growth in his game. During his junior season, Welling showed flashes of what he can become, including a strong performance against Timpview late in the season. With a few older brothers thathave paved the way he could be a player to keep an eye on. With another year of high school basketball ahead of him, Welling enters the next chapter of his Alta career as one of the players to watch as the Hawks look to build for the future.

After getting his first taste of varsity basketball as a sophomore, Schultz will look to take a bigger step forward this year and earn a more consistent role for the Vikings. Schultz has a chance to make a big impact this season. With another offseason to develop his game and gain confidence, Schultz has an opportunity to become a valuable contributor as Viewmont continues to build its roster for the upcoming season. He is a must watch player.

Hendrix had some valuable varsity experience as a freshman; he has already shown flashes of his potential and should benefit from that early experience. His play at the club level could mean trouble for other teams as Highland looks to build around a player like Hendrix. At 6-foot-4, his combination of size, versatility could make him an important piece for the Rams as they look to reload and remain competitive.

Westenskow is one of the more intriguing young players on Brighton's roster heading into the season. The 6'6, forward played in all 23 varsity games as a sophomore last season, although his statistical role was limited: he finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. He should have a breakout year and help Brighton make a rise with some of the young talent on the roster.

Poulton has an opportunity to take on a much larger role. His size gives Bountiful another versatile front-court option. With so many players gone because of graduation, Poulton could rise to the ocassion and take advantage of his opportunity.

Skyline will need a lot of Sunderland this season as he is their best player and leading scoring coming back. He shoots the ball well and if he can have a few plays specifically for him to get open looks he could continue to score the ball at a high level.

Death, taxes, and Olympus winning the region have been how things have gone for the past few years. Olympus has pumped out star after star. Can they keep it going this coming season?
