Under the Radar 804 2027’s

The 804 has produced some high-level players, but here is a closer look at some prospects that are under the radar or not widely known across the area. These 4 players haven't received a ton of attention but definitely deserve more attention and the eyes of college coaches looking to add to their next recruiting class.

Elijah is a quick and shift lead guard for Glen Allen High School who has quickly asserted himself as a leader, knockdown shooter, and very capable playmaker. After seeing Eli play a handful of times this summer, it's hard to see why he has gone unnoticed for so long. He makes his team better simply by being on the floor; he leaves it all on the court every time. He is a highly efficient shooter, great at navigating ball screens, and will be key to the success of the Jaguars this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815342' first='Larry' last='Walker'] is another lead guard who has gone unnoticed for a while; after watching him play for a while, he is showing that he has the tools to be a college-level guard. He is an excellent and gritty on-ball defender who loves to pick up full-court, a consistent shooter, and a valuable playmaker for his team. He has been a part of the Petersburg squad that won a state championship last year and was a pivotal piece for them; he will assume a larger role this season for the Crimson Waves. I have been more and more impressed with him each time I've seen him play, and he will quickly become someone college coaches will be after.

Jacob Quarles is a physical and bruiser kind of forward who has quietly been behind other bigs in the area, but it's hard to understand why. He brings toughness, athleticism, and physicality on both sides of the ball that make him a major impact for his team. He can score inside at a high rate, finish above the rim, and is a great rebounder and rim protector. College coaches should take a look if they are looking to add additional size to their next class.

Won Evans is a 6'3 Combo Guard who is a big-time scorer in the 804 area. He just transferred back home to Brunswick Academy. He had a productive summer with Team Loaded and will be a player college coaches will want to take a look at if they're looking for a sharpshooter and quick, shifty playmaker. Won just received his first offer from Fisher College, an NAIA school in Boston. Won is set to have a monster Senior season and will be a key piece for Brunswick to make a deep playoff run.
