The Expo: 3v3 Eye-Catchers

All of our events at Prep Hoops Indiana generate a lot of attention across the state. However, the growth of The Expo is a major point of pride for our team as we wrap up the summer. This year we double the size of the event bringing in nearly 120 prospects in the Classes of 2027 and 2028. Also, more than just the raw numbers, the level of talent was very impressive. We hosted over 40 Top 100 prospects today and had college coaches from the Division II, Division III, and NAIA levels in attendance. This was truly one of the best exposure events of the year that you could attend as a prospect. As always, we will be unleashing a ton of content over the next week or so coming out of The Expo. We will have evaluations of every player in attendance post on a team-by-team basis. Also, top performers, new names, and more will be highlighted. Below are some observations from the opening 3v3 sessions. If you did not receive an evaluation please contact Brandon Ramsey directly via Twitter DM or email at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com. Davonte Rhodes was of the most athletic players on the court. Stood out for his ability to play, dribble and drive with control without losing the ball in his sphere. Very good at driving through contact and getting layups through contact. Fights through defenders around the rim, uses his arm length to score around the baseline. Brahdee Taylor is an exceptional, high effort player who really excels on defense. He is very physical, sticking on guards like glue and displaying quick hands to steal passes. Slides his feet laterally and uses his wingspan well to time the ball well for breakups and steals. Luke Richardson really impressed me during the 3v3 period. Good patience with the ball in his hands; can dribble across near baseline with control. Good presence on defense with good hands to strip the ball away and create steals. Times the ball well for blocks. Flashed being a very good passer who can dribble and kick the ball outside for wide-open 3s. Good rebounder. Rylon Gore really came alive in the closing mintues of the next-to-last 3v3 game of the day. Tall player who made a couple of timely 3s. Can dribble and get open by creating misdirection, shoots a nice fadeaway jumper. Devin Colbert was my favorite player to watch. Colbert is on the short side, but of everyone who made my list I'm not sure anybody played with more effort. Very quick feet, can dribble-drive and score under the rim. He has very quick hands to steal passes and kick the ball out to open men on the perimeter. Swished a couple of great stepback fadeaway jumpers look easy. Plays much bigger than his size would indicate. Thomas Soller has a very good combination of play strength, range, and shot selection. Made a really difficult three-point shot in heavy traffic. Made a couple of off-balance shots easily, draws contact and finishes at the rim. Impressive prospect.
