A great amount of talent was in the gym on Saturday, strongly representing the class of 2030 in Appleton over Labor Day Weekend. Let's breakdown Team 3 of the Wisconsin Freshman Showcase!

Harper is a quick and dynamic guard attending Racine St. Cat's. The five-foot-nine lead guard most impressed me with his ability to lock up his individual matchup, with tenacious on ball defense. A handful of times, Harper was able to generate deflections with his quick hands and natural instincts on defense. On the offensive end, Mikey understands when to space the floor and rim cut on dribble penetration.

Ballweg did some damage in transition with and without the ball on Saturday afternoon in the 5 on 5 sessions. A speedy quick point guard, Asher was able to get downhill in the fast break to convert some easy ones directly at the rim. In the half court, Ballweg held spacing well and was able to cut at the rim to put pressure on the defense. The prospect out of Verona, was active and engaged defensively, locking up his matchup.

Krause, who is attending Seymour High School, was very consistent in 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 showcase games on Saturday in Appleton. Jackson has a lot of length for the combo guard position and he uses this to his advantage on both ends of the floor. Krause has a high basketball IQ utilizing curl cuts, finding teammates on passes, and reading closeouts on the perimeter. The six-foot-two prospect had an excellent decel finish and has the capability to be an impact player with his finishing skill set. A very good shooter as well, Krause has the potential to be a player to watch for the Thunder in the class of 2030.

Glonek came a long way to Appleton for the Wisconsin Freshman Showcase, and he did not disappoint. Jorde, has a very quick release three point shot that he is able to get up off the bounce and in catch and shoot opportunities in the half court. Once Glonek started to heat up, he was able to read his closeouts well to attack at the rim efficiently. The Northwestern HS prospect, was able to dissect opposing defenders with great decision making to play off two feet and convert at the cup. Glonek could be a name to monitor as he develops strength and other parts to his game as he matures.

The six-foot prospect from Wisconsin Lutheran was efficient in 3 on 3 runs and 5 on 5 games in Appleton. What stood out right away with Zarate's game, was his ability to knock down deep triples, as he buried two college range threes in the first competition session. In addition to his pure shooting, Isaac had a nice jab step take off the bounce, and was a smooth operator from the mid range as he converted a nice spin turn-around jumper.

Romo impressed me the most out of anyone on team three on Saturday in Appleton. Marcello, was Mr. Do Everything for his team: passing, shooting, finishing acrobatically, rebounding, and defending at a high level. The freshman who attends North Fondy, has a great positional size at six-foot-three, and has developed a strong skill set for his age. Several times, Romo's tight handle was on display, probing to the basket to finish or set up his teammates. In those finishes, he had several tough finishes to finish through and around contact. A contender for serious minutes this season at NFDL, Romo is one to watch in the 2030 class.

Yeboah was in tune in the flow of the offense in both transition and in the half court at the Champions' Center. Kofi, who is attending Columbus Catholic, seemed to perfectly time his cuts on dribble penetration to convert easy buckets. When the ball is in his hands, Yeboah is a great athlete and can utilize his quickness to blow by players with his decisive first step. I was also impressed with Yeboah's motor to keep possessions alive on the glass, by aggressively tipping and securing offensive rebounds for team three on Saturday.

Jackson was bringing the energy and juice on Saturday, flying around on the floor on both ends during the 5 on 5 evaluation games. The Martin Luther guard is a pure hustler on the defensive end, securing defensive boards, getting into passing lanes, and ripping the ball away from his matchup. This allowed his team to capitalize on live ball turnovers, turning strong defense into instant offense on the other end. Jackson led the transition break a few times making the right pass ahead or getting deep paint touches.
