With the high school season fast approaching, Community First Champion Center was loaded with talent for the Wisconsin Sophomore ID Camp. Bringing together some of the top 2029 prospects from across the state, the showcase provided a premier preview of Wisconsin's next wave of varsity stars. This camp featured dynamic playmakers, high-octane perimeter defenders, and multi-level scoring threats. Here below is a breakdown for team 13.

Bell is a physical guard who competed with great effort throughout camp. He provided great production on both ends of the ball for team 13. He wields a strong frame with the ability to cover ground via his end to end speed. On many occasions he applied full court pressure following his own basket. The Milwaukee Lutheran guard was relentless and proved to have great reflexes in the passing lanes and as an on-ball defender. In the half court, he displayed the ability to bump defenders off their bearings when reaching the paint. Keep an eye on this two-way guard in the near future as he is ready to make some noise in the Woodland Conference.

Ramirez was electric for TNBA over the summer and brought the same energy to camp. The 5' 10 combo guard continuously applied pressure on defenders as a playmaker while also scoring when the situation called for him to be aggressive. His methodical approach as a ball handler allowed some fluidity throughout camp. His patience and timing was apparent and was a huge reason why Team 13 was so competitive. This West Allis Hale guard has cat-like reflexes on both ends of the floor. Most impressive was his motor and pace, which will carry over into the winter.

Willis could be seen starting the break and finding teammates in position to score on the frequent. The Kenosha Indian Trail guard proved to be a fearless driver to the rim. Team 13 flowed at a high level with him out on the floor. His high motor allowed him to work himself open and show off some polished catch and shoot skills. Willis provided a balanced attack and showed versatility as an inside and outside threat offensively.

Holtz comes to camp following having played summer ball with [program_tooltip program_id='2078835' first='Wisconsin' last='Swing']. At camp he was dialed up and showcased his talent for Team 13. The 5' 11 combo guard has an aesthetically pleasing rotation on his jump shot. He found himself open off the ball due to his quickness and agility in transition. He has a solid handle and understanding of how to create on the ball as well. When ran off the line he proved to be certain about getting to his secondary spots to be a threat. What stood out the most was his quick trigger on his shot that defenders rarely affected when closing out on him.

Turner was one of the more exceptional athletes who competed at Camp. He covers a great deal of real estate on his drives, reaching his spots quickly with the ball in his hands. The [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] guard played with great comfort and ball security in high pressure scenarios. He wields agility and toughness that allows him to absorb collisions at the rim consistently. Expect his game to grow as he will continue his development with the state champion Wisconsin Lutheran program in the winter.

Kuhns is an Edgewood guard who approached camp with high energy and set out to be a pest defensively. His efforts sparked countless momentum shifting plays for Team 13. His second and third efforts started fastbreaks and allowed his team to play fast and with the advantage in transition. His strong frame and quick feet allowed him to be a versatile defender. Kuhns is also a highly capable scorer and playmaker, his discipline to play off two feet was apparent throughout camp. Expect his game to continue to grow as he plays with a high level Halliburton team in the summer months.

Ortega showcased his talent over the summer with the ABC Lions over the summer and set out to do the same at camp. He wields a combination of shift and strength with the ball in his hands. I was impressed with his ability to fend off opponents with his strong base and low dribble. He proved to be crafty in the paint throughout camp, finishing with his outside and inside hand at the basket. He was proficient beyond the arc and in the mid range making him a threat on all three levels of the floor. Ortega is primed to make noise for Waukesha South in the coming season.

Marciulionis was a tough cover for opponents over the summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2075876' first='Team' last='1848'] and proved to be the same at camp. He took up a lot of space in the paint on the defensive end. Standing at 6' 6 and very light on his feet, he made an impact as a high level help defender. His length and mobility affected and altered shots in a major way for team 13. Offensively was a reliable option for points in the paint via his sturdy base and soft touch on his hook shot over either shoulder. Marculionis extended his offensive impact beyond the arc as well when opposing bigs failed to keep track of him. The DC Everest wing has a high ceiling and is one to keep an eye on in the coming season.
