Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase - Top Performers, Part Two

There are many great days across the busy Indiana High School Basketball schedule. However, few compare to our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. On Sunday, September 6th at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club we hosted nearly 250 of the best underclassmen in the state. Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting individual evaluations of every prospect in attendance, highlighting top performers, introducing new names, and much more. Here are some of the top prospects who stood out during the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.   ***As you can imagine, with nearly 250 prospects, we are bound to miss someone. If your team's evaluation article gets posted and you were NOT included please connect with Brandon Ramsey on Twitter or via email at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com and he will take care of the mistake.***   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Another talented incoming freshman at Franklin Community High School, Basler is our second Grizzly Cub to earn top performer honors. The 6'3" guard shot the ball extremely well at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He looked comfortable making them on the move and has the positional size to get clean looks on the perimeter even when demanding tight defense and aggressive closeouts. There is definitely a projectable quality to his shooting ability.     From a standpoint of athletic and physical tools, Bogan is among the leaders of the pack in the Class of 2030 in Indiana. The 6'4" strong, left-handed wing was excellent on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He knocked in some three-point shots, displayed his physicality off of the dribble, and was an excellent finisher inside. There is obviously a lot of talent at Pike High School right now, but he is a name to remember in this incoming freshman class.     One of the few out-of-state prospects that attended our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, Clegg is no stranger to the state having played with Indiana Elite in the summer. The 6'4" forward has impressive physical tools and moves well for his size. He was consistently effective driving it from the perimeter and using his strength to finish in the paint. We also saw Clegg stretch the floor some as a catch-and-shoot threat. He is definitely a name to remember at St. Xavier High School.     Cole is not only a very talented player, but he also impacts the game consistently due to his outstanding motor. His effort really stood out early and often at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. When he wasn't knocking down outside shots or using his athleticism to attack the basket off of the dribble he was flying to the offensive glass to get his team extra possessions. Look for Cole to step in and play a significant role right away as a freshman at North Daviess High School.     Dancler proved himself as one of the best playmakers in the gym on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He is quick with the ball in his hands and did a great job of pushing the pace in transition, but also has impressive physical strength for a freshman that he used to attack the basket and finish against size inside. Look for Dancler to step in right away and have a big impact as a freshman at Mishawaka High School.     The size and physicality of Patterson makes him very hard to deal with off of the dribble. He is very comfortable with the ball in his hands and has showcased the ability to drive it either direction and finish consistently with both hands. When he gets going downhill it is very hard for opposing defenders to deal with him. Patterson put up huge numbers for Crispus Attucks High School at the Charlie Hughes Showcase in June and is poised to have one of the best statistical seasons of any freshman in the state.     Over the summer we quickly identified Robbins as one of the top prospects in Indiana's Class of 2030. He certainly helped drive home that point during the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase on Sunday. The 6'5" wing has such impressive skill to pair with his positional size. He can stretch the floor as a shooter, create off of the dribble as a ball handler and passer, or utilize his size and strength to score inside. Robbins is going to have a big freshman year for Bedford North Lawrence High School.     Another one of the talented incoming freshmen at Merrillville High School, Thomas certainly deserves top performer honors for his play at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6'0" guard has a smooth jump shot that keeps defenses honest out on the perimeter, but then can explode downhill and finish at the rim. His ball skill makes it very difficult for opposing defenders to ever feel comfortable guarding him. Look for him to make an instant impact in the Merrillville backcourt.
