Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase | Team 6 Evals

There are many great days across the busy Indiana High School Basketball schedule. However, few compare to our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. On Sunday, September 6th at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club we hosted nearly 250 of the best underclassmen in the state. Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting individual evaluations of every prospect in attendance, highlighting top performers, introducing new names, and much more. Here are the prospect evaluations for Team 6 from the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.   ***As you can imagine, with nearly 250 prospects, we are bound to miss someone. [player_tooltip player_id='2831723' first='Stephen' last='Gilbert'] was really good especially on the defensive end of the floor. His defensive pressure was full court and was disruptive on his matchup. Offensively he had a quick step and used angles really well to get to spots and create looks for others.     High IQ Point Guard that played within himself at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. 5'11” Bloomington South Product [player_tooltip player_id='3735447' first='Will' last='Deckard'] is a tempo pushing guard that is a pass first guard with good fundamentals and understanding of running a team. Deliberate on his movements, Deckard was really good on his drives creating for teammates. Also showed he was capable of playing off the ball, and was excellent as a spot up shooter.     High motor wing that played with great tenacity on the defensive end. Despite being a bit undersized for his position, North Judson Wing [player_tooltip player_id='3656346' first='Jentry' last='Brewer'] was a really good rebounder. He really stood out to me with his communication on defense, and his off ball cutting on the offensive end. He was constantly moving on the floor and played with a lot of effort     One of the more impressive prospects I got to see at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Warsaw 2030 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3654214' first='Liam' last='Kitch'] was extremely productive offensively with his scoring ability, as well as his playmaking. Has a good frame that allows him to get downhill and play through contact. Always under control. Confident shooter from deep, but also showed his soft touch in the midrange as well as his finishing ability around the basket.     One of the more intriguing prospects in Southwest Indiana for the class of 2030, Evansville Memorial 6'3” Wing [player_tooltip player_id='3718858' first='JJ' last='Hawkins'] was excellent in the 3v3 portion of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Camp with his length and athleticism. Showed that he's still a bit raw in the 5v5, but plays incredibly hard on both ends. Versatile defender that plays with active hands, rebounds it well, and runs the floor. Showed the ability to push in transition and make good decisions on the break.     Intriguing inside-out wing with a strong frame and high motor. [player_tooltip player_id='3733561' first='Marqel' last='Aguirre'] out of Ben Davis was an active wing that was aggressive offensively and relentless getting downhill where he was excellent finishing in a variety of different ways and playing through contact. Showed his ability to make catch and shoot 3's, but is best making plays off the dribble for himself and others. Built with a strong frame and plays with a lot of effort on both ends of the floor.     Providence 2030 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3755682' first='Blake' last='Hammond'] is a high energy guard that took on as a vocal leader for his team at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Steady guard offensively that's comfortable on or off the ball. He was really good timing his cuts to get open. Unselfish guard that never let the ball stick in his hands. Defensively he was excellent off the ball. Always in the right place at the right time and communicated well on the defensive end of the floor.     An offensively raw prospect that showed flashes with his length and athleticism in the paint on both ends of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='2828589' first='Destin' last='Hawkins'] of Bloomington North is a really good rebounder that that also runs the floor well and fights for position on the low blocks. Did show his potential on the perimeter as a catch and shoot threat, but is best when making plays around the rim with his effort.     Big time guard out of Crispus Attucks that showed his full offensive arsenal at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. 6'3” [player_tooltip player_id='3704180' first='Tomarri' last='Patterson'] is a confident score first guard that puts relentless pressure on the rim with drive. Absorbs contact and plays through contact as well as any player on the class. Really good with the advance pass in transition while showcasing intriguing court vision in the halfcourt.     Physical low post presence that showed his potential as a stretch four in the near future. Good frame that allowed him to be an excellent rebounder on both ends. Patient on the low block when he got the ball and showed some really nice footwork. He set good screens and had confidence in his pick and pop game. For his size, [player_tooltip player_id='3719147' first='AJ' last='Schwab'] showed to be pretty mobile and switchable on the defensive end of the floor.
