New Names making their debut to 2028 rankings

The 2028 rankings are dropping this week and this is a class that we're certainly excited about. It's a deep class, there were plenty of movement and we are adding over 50 players to the rankings. Here are some prospects who will be making their debut in the rankings based on what we saw from the Summer.     Jaedon is a guard who we saw aplenty over the Summer and the thing about him is he is always competing. He was the primary ball handler for his team, he ran plays and got them in their sets, took tough shots and had some creative finishes around the basket. He's an assertive downhill guard who attacks the teeth of the defense, kicks it out to open teammates and understands pace. We saw him have his moments over grassroots where he got to show that he can carry on more of a load and take care of the ball and Arapahoe will surely need that kind of guard who can change it up for them at times. If he could be a pest defensively, use his body and get to where he wanted on the floor that would be another weapon that Arapahoe could deploy. Big year coming for him and he's making his ranking debut based on what we saw.     We saw Castillo in July for RTS Choice and he was one of the new name standouts who really turned heads with his performance. He was a balanced player who brought a bit of everything and competed on both ends. We saw him in a back and forth game and they put the ball in his hands and let him operate and he did just that. He shot the ball well, created shots for himself and rose over guys for mid range pull-ups. His understanding of spacing and getting out in transition to score is something that let me know that he could have a big season and be a focal point of the offense. I am willing to bet that he has monster stats and will be a riser this next go round but makes his rankings debut this time with us wanting to just see more of his play throughout the year.     We saw Stevie for NoCo Elite this Summer and while he was not a guy that you put out there and just go score a basket type of player his IQ was on full display and he just kept making plays. He's a hard screen setter, he rolls off of that and kicks it to the open man or puts pressure on the rim. We saw him as an immovable force who kept plays alive with his activity and he played the right way. There wasn't too much dribbling or forcing of shots but rather constant movement, he rotated the ball well, got it out for outlet plays and showed that he could be impactful. He'll have to be that and more for Timnath, but he showed he could be a player that you could throw in the game and good things happen. He's making a jump into the rankings with a wait and see approach on more.     Preston didnt play much varsity last year, but with how he looked when we saw him at the Expo, that will surely change moving forward and we're excited to see if he's a mainstay or if that was just a really good day. He was very good when we saw him. He battled against whoever was in front of him, he challenged guys defensively with his length and athleticism and that also gave him some momentum offensively. He looked like a 3-way scorer who can open up the floor, slashes for baskets and also can hit the mid range to 3-point line extended shot. When he got hot, he mixed in little things to continue making plays and that's exactly what Legend will need from him moving forward. It's certainly early on but we feel that he will be a surprise breakout player in their conference if he can duplicate the performance that we saw and with it he makes his rankings debut. We'll certainly see more of him moving forward.     Palisade was the surprise standout team from a season ago and head into this season with even higher expectations as they return pretty much their entire team. With that, size and an inside presence will be a focal point of this team and Wyatt Joy should easily step into that role looking to make his mark. We saw him at the Expo last week and his size is overwhelming at times. He runs the floor well and is fluid for a guy with that kind of length, he altered shots, had some high contests and moves his feet well. Wyatt also got himself going on the block a tad bit and showed that you could dump it off to him and he can get a basket or he could very well go up and grab a board and keep plays alive. He gives his team second and even third chance opportunities and he should be a name that we see more of this year. He will make his ranking debut this go-round.     Robison is a player we've written about a few times now as we saw him have a big Expo performance as a wing/forward who runs the break and has athletic finishes and he also got out to an event over the Summer where he stood out as a top performer as well. He's stacking solid performances and could possible jump in as a role player who I feel could really make an impact if he plays how we've been seeing him. He has good size, he's a versatile defender and when locked in he's a very tough cover. If he continues to work hard and show that he could be a two-way force I could see him being a role player this year. We're high on Robison and want to see more of him. He's making his rankings debut and could rise or fall with the season quickly approaching.
