Minnesota Sophomore ID Camp: Team 12 Evals

Breaking down the performances of the prospects from Team 12 at the Prep Hoops MN Sophomore ID Camp!    Ben provided an extra ball handling option for Team 12. He showcased a tight handle that helped him stay calm and get out of high pressure situations on a number of occasions against a team that was looking to trap and play fast. Showed good touch around the rim with a difficult finish high off the glass after a baseline drive.     Cole is an active guard who always seemed to be moving without the ball. Whether he was setting a screen, cutting hard to the basket, or probing for space on the arc, Cole never stood still on the offensive end. Did a nice job of mixing in shot/pass fakes to keep his defender on their toes and open up some gaps to attack. Had a nice shot-fake into a straight line drive for two points in what was a close game down the stretch.     Todd is a skilled ball handler who has a deep bag of tricks to turn to off the dribble. Throughout the game I watched he showed no problem creating separation from his defender, with a quick release to get off his shot before they even realize what happened. He opened up the second half but stealing the ball, dribbling up the floor, and getting into the lane to score with a floater over size.     Matthew is a long 6'3 wing with fluid athleticism that allows him to weave in-and-out of defenders as he attacks the basket. Just seems to glide effortlessly at times as he's so smooth driving to the rim. Had a play in the second half where he stole the ball down in the corner and used his speed to beat everyone across the length of the floor for two points, before running back on defense to block a shot and once again go coast-to-coast to finish. Nice potential moving forward with his combination of length and athleticism at 6'3.     Andrew was one of the hardest working players I saw all day. Every play he's going out there and giving 100%, whether he's chasing down a loose ball, sprinting the floor in transition, or battling to get over a screen defensively. He can guard just about every spot on the floor as he has no problem competing with physicality in the paint, and works to move his feet when matched up with smaller guards. Someone who finds ways to impact the game without needing to score a lot.     [player_tooltip player_id='2820277' first='Aiden' last='Ebbers'] is a big body in the paint at 6'5. Going up against a team that featured two 6'8 players who were often on the floor at the same time, it was up to Aiden to control the glass and protect the rim for his team. He did a nice job of establishing deep post position without the ball, allowing him to catch and immediately power his way up when an entry pass came. Aiden's strength allowed him to finish through contact and convert on some difficult looks inside.     Micah was listed as Team 20 on the roster, but ran with Team 12 in the game I watched. At 5'8 he's lighting quick on the ball, and is a true pass first point guard. He was so dangerous getting into the lane off the dribble and forcing a help-side defender to step up on him. This left shooters open in the corner, and Micah was consistently able to deliver an accurate kick-out pass to get them a good look from three. Micah added in two buckets in the last 1-2 minutes of the first half to help his team close out strong. Plays fast but always manages to stay under control.     Wynn was another player listed on the roster under a different team, but was with Team 12 when I watched. Like we've come to expect with Wayzata guards, the ball doesn't stick in his hands, and when he gets open he can make you pay by putting three points on the board. Smooth lefty release with touch from beyond the arc or from in the lane. Wayzata continues to pump out talented players, and Wynn looks like someone who will add more depth to their rotation in the coming years.
