Minnesota Sophomore Showcase: Game 4 Notes

The best of the best from this round that we saw. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2955912' first='Trameill' last='White'] of Blake. There is no doubt that White was one of the most productive, and most talented players in the event today. It was consistency of production, and it was the physical gifts/skill combination playing several roles that led to a great day of basketball. White finished, he rebounded, he handles, pushed the ball, passed the ball well, and quite simply was one of the best all around talents in the event. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2521853' first='Justus' last='Dayee'] of Tartan. Dayee is a division one athlete, there is no question about it. We all know that. The next step for him is getting the skills that a 6'5/6'6 division one athlete has for the mid major or high major level. Today was a really good step in that direction as we saw Justus hit a three from both wings, we saw him score on the attack off a ball screen, and saw Dayee attack baseline to score. Definitely looks on target in terms of the next steps in his progression. And yes, Justus made explosive plays like he always does. Looks an inch taller too. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2983575' first='Marek' last='Nelson'] of Mora. First thing I noticed about Marek, he was in a stance. That stance helped him move with the attack to block and contest shots and back to back possessions. And the more I watched him, the better defense Nelson played. He handled some, made perimeter jumpers here and there, and if he missed that jumper, he followed it: once he scored on the putback and the other time he caught a pass to score. Played the right way and had success. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2386780' first='Brekken' last='Koenigs'] of Southland. A shooter. One of the best shooters I saw all day. About 5'7 but he's grown three inches and will keep growing. Stepped back off the arc a bit to get the angle and I swear he made every three I watched him take when the ball was moved to him on the wing. One of the six returning key players for Southland that is going to make them a team to beat in Class A. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2836789' first='Noah' last='Luzar'] of Pequot Lakes. Stop me if you have heard this before..... another up and coming player from Pequot Lakes and he has size. Luzar is 6'7 and he rim ran throughout the day and he was rewarded for it with passes in front of the cup and putbacks. Noah runs well so he was able to beat everybody to the block to post up, or fight in the post. And the next big at Pequot also contested or got his hand on a number of shots defensively. It was a good impression made for the next up Patriot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3691827' first='Evan' last='Scheuch'] of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. Evan is 6'1/6'2 and so active. When it comes to players that go to help, got hands on ball, got to deflections, Evan was the guy. He helped players off the floor, Evan talked on defense, and he scored actively. A player that will fit in well with a Laker team that has a lot of good players. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
