Fall League: Bucket Getters From Thursday

Thursday's slate was filled with good matchups and each of these prospects brought their A game, especially on offense.

Fred Jones Jr. was the driving force behind the Panthers narrow win over Valley on Thursday night. He was assertive throughout the game, and I was a fan of how he accelerated when he attacked the basket. He also absorbed contact well during his finishes, and got to the line. In addition to his impressive play on offense, he made some nice plays on defense. Including a big block and some deflections. All in all, he performed well and competed with intensity.

Stats - 26 Points

[player_tooltip player_id='2624906' first='Damari' last='Sawall'] played with real poise and maturity in the Knights W over Legacy. Despite being doubled and tripled most of the game, he still cashed in on his scoring chances. Knocking down multiple triples and converting tough makes around the cup. I also liked how he made precise passes when the Longhorns pressed, and it didn't take him very much time to find the open man. Expect him to keep it going.

[player_tooltip player_id='2434274' first='Elizjah' last='Scott'] was another Knight guard who showed up and showed out. A couple of his top highlights were a smooth stepback 3 and clean baseline jumper. He also got downhill a few times and had defenders on their heels. On the other end of the court, Scott applied good ball pressure and worked hard to keep his man in front of him. Considering his instincts and scoring prowess, he and Sawall will have opponents sweating all year long.

[player_tooltip player_id='2672487' first='Lamarcus' last='Carter'] was getting it done for the Pirates on Thursday night. He simply has a nose for the basket, and doesn't like to be denied. That aggressiveness paid dividends, and he connected on a triple as well. Defensively, he didn't give his man much room to operate. And he was utilizing his active hands to pester the SV guards.

[player_tooltip player_id='3558462' first='Tyler' last='Gleim'] was finding the cracks in the defense. He also hit the brakes to create separation, and dropped in a number of close range jumpers. Gleim had some quality looks on the perimeter too, and it was evident that he had a good feel for what his opponents were trying to take away. If he continues to play a high level, he could be a potential stock riser in the future.
