We're holding off on officially ranking the Class of 2030 for now, giving these young players the chance to make their mark during their freshman seasons. From what we saw this summer, there's already plenty of reason to pay attention to this class. Several of these names showed enough talent, versatility and upside that we could see them making a varsity impact this season. Now it's time to see who carries that summer momentum into the season, earns meaningful minutes and starts making an even bigger name for themselves.

Cain gives George Washington an intriguing piece to work with heading into the season. His physical style and athleticism could be a major presence around the basket, particularly on the defensive end where his ability to challenge shots and make plays could become a real asset. Offensively his strength and quickness give him a chance to attack defenders, get downhill and create points around the rim. As he gets more comfortable and continues to develop, those tools could translate into a bigger role. We could see Cain bringing energy, toughness and another scoring option to the varsity floor, making him a player worth watching this season

Valdez has the chance to become a really useful piece for Denver South this season because of everything he can bring outside of simply putting points on the board. He plays with good awareness, sees the floor well and seems comfortable making the play that keeps things moving. He'll find teammates, help create space, get after loose balls and turn defensive pressure into opportunities going the other way. That effort should give him plenty of ways to affect a game. For Denver South, having a player who brings that kind of unselfish, winning minded approach could be important, and Valdez looks like someone who could earn his way into a varsity role

Campbell gives Fort Collins a guard who can bring some serious juice to the offensive end. He plays with a confident pace and has the quickness to turn the corner, shake defenders and get himself into scoring position. Once he finds a rhythm, he can put pressure on a defense possession after possession and has enough range to keep defenders guessing. He also has the athleticism to finish when he gets downhill, making him more than just a perimeter threat. There's a lot of upside in his offensive game and if that continues to come together, Campbell could become a player Fort Collins leans on for points and playmaking opportunities this season

Abbey looks like a player who could give Arapahoe some valuable minutes this season, especially with the effort and toughness he brings defensively. He competes on every possession, stays active away from the ball and has a knack for making things uncomfortable for opposing guards. That energy can lead to extra possessions and easy chances in transition. There's also more to his offensive game than might initially stand out, as he can move the ball, score around the basket and make plays from the post. If he continues building on those offensive flashes, Abbey has a chance to become a well rounded contributor and carve out a meaningful varsity role for Arapahoe

Bonner brings an intriguing combination of size and skill that could translate well to the varsity level for Mullen this season. He's comfortable taking care of the ball, sees the floor well and has the ability to make plays without needing everything run through him. His passing and feel give him ways to create opportunities in transition or when the game slows down. He also shows good instincts defensively, especially when jumping into passing lanes and turning stops into chances going the other way. The more confident he becomes offensively, the more his versatility could come into play. Bonner has the tools to grow into a player who can provide real value on both ends

Woods has some upside that could make him an interesting addition to Doherty's varsity group this season. He showed a nice offensive feel over the summer, especially as a shooter, but he also looked comfortable making plays when he had the ball. He plays under control, sees opportunities develop and doesn't force things just to get involved. That type of decision making can be valuable when the pace picks up at the varsity level. If he continues to gain confidence and finds his rhythm, Woods could give Doherty another reliable option and work his way into a role that grows as the season moves along
