Our 2027 national rankings update just went live! Kendrick has played one season on 15 U back in the summer of 2023 but played two straight years of 16 U due to a reclass from the 2026 to 2027 class after the summer of 2024. Kendrick's experience as a playmaker was obvious as he controlled the pace and limited turnovers despite creating a lot off the dribble. Kendrick ended up leading the peach jam in assists per game this summer. Kendrick has also taken a big leap with his explosiveness as he's now dunking in the lane with more confidence and has a sudden vertical leap to the rim. Look for Kendrick to find a spot where he can make an immediate impact at the college level.

Prep Hoops National Ranking: 67th

Next highest National Ranking: 110th Rivals

It's not often you get multiple HM head coaches and numerous out of region HM programs at your June live period games but that's the type of pull Cochran had in June for Brentwood. With some top HM programs who focus on development and retention going hard after Cochran on the recruiting trail, it would be silly to fade him and suggest there's over 100 better players in the 2027 class nationally like every other rankings currently suggests. After his weekend at BCAT, Cochran earned offers from both high major in-state programs in Tennessee and Vanderbilt, as well as an offer from Virginia Tech. Cochran also completed a visit to Cincinnati immediately following that weekend and has since earned offers to Auburn, Washington, Clemson and Virginia. With many prospects ranked between 60-150 ending up at mid-major programs, it seems silly to rank Cochran well below prospects who don't have anywhere near the high major interest that he has.

Prep Hoops National Ranking: 76th

Next highest National Ranking: 112th 247

A prospect who made a massive jump at Peach Jam, Paez helped lead a gritty Drive Nation team all the way to the championship game where they fell short against Florida Rebels. Paez led the team in scoring throughout the tournament and also averaged 3.3 defensive stocks per game. With his scoring, toughness and defensive impact, high major programs have come calling quickly. Paez has scheduled visits to three Big East programs, UConn, Xavier and DePaul, as well as a west coast trip to Cal. Making the move to Iowa United Prep for his senior season, Paez should have a lot of eyes on him this winter and will have every opportunity to play his way into a top 100 ranking on other websites before it's all said and done.

Prep Hoops National Ranking: 102nd

Next highest National Ranking: 149th 247

Mitchell had a big summer for Pro Skills on the EYBL circuit. Mitchell averaged almost 17 points a contest and did so while making over 50% of his 2-point shots and over 35% of his 3-point shots. His most explosive scoring performances this summer came against the City Rocks and Oakland Soldiers, where he scored 33 and 28 points respectively. Mitchell had a busy summer announcing a transfer to a talented East Central program and also committing to Mississippi State, an opportunity to potentially see the floor in the SEC sooner rather than later in his college career.

Prep Hoops National Ranking: 116th

Next highest National Ranking: 139th Rivals

A prospect I've discussed a handful of times, Barnes led PG Elite in scoring at Peach Jam, finishing over six points per game higher than their second leading scorer. Barnes did this while shooting 46% from the field and 44% from 3-point range. The combination of efficient scoring and defensive toughness made me rank Barnes before any other outlet back in the spring and Prep Hoops is still higher than the rest of the industry on Barnes.
