2027 Guards Ready To Turn Summer Production Into Fall Success

During the summer, I had the opportunity to watch a lot of basketball during the grassroots season. Throughout my time, I was able to witness five senior guards who had great summer performances. I believe that they will carry that momentum into the fall season.    [player_tooltip player_id='2555829' first='Brodrick' last='Wyatt'] II is a physical 2027 combo guard who brings toughness, competitiveness, and scoring ability to the perimeter. He can create offense both on and off the ball, using his strength to attack closeouts and finish through contact. Wyatt also has the shooting ability to punish defenders who give him space, giving him value as a three-level scoring threat. His motor and physicality translate to the defensive end, where he consistently competes and makes his presence felt. Earlier this month Wyatt committed to Eastern Michigan University.     Will Goolsby is a 2027 guard who provides valuable floor spacing with his ability to consistently knock down perimeter shots. He moves well without the ball and understands how to find open space while playing alongside other creators. Goolsby can also attack aggressive closeouts and make plays off the bounce when defenders run him off the three-point line. His shooting gives him a clear offensive role on the floor. As of 9/14 Goolsby has committed to playing college basketball at Oral Roberts University.     [player_tooltip player_id='2252156' first='Dylan' last='Jones-Bynum'] is a productive 2027 lead guard who plays with confidence and consistently puts pressure on opposing defenses. He has the handle and scoring ability to create his own shot while also possessing the vision to generate opportunities for teammates. Jones-Bynum is comfortable attacking downhill, pulling up from the perimeter, and playing with the ball in his hands. His activity on the glass and defensive end adds value beyond his scoring production. In his senior year at Cinco Ranch, he aims to lead the team this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='2446333' first='Josiah' last='McGowen'] is a 2027 combo guard whose game stands out because of his feel, decision-making, and ability to make the right play. He handles the ball comfortably and can create advantages by getting downhill or operating in pick-and-roll situations. McGowen also shows the passing ability to keep teammates involved while remaining a scoring threat himself. Defensively, his activity and competitiveness give him the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor. McGowen, who had a great summer, hopes to maintain his momentum into the fall season.     Luther Head III is a 2027 guard with good positional size, a confident offensive approach, and the ability to impact the game with or without the ball. He is comfortable handling the ball, attacking downhill, and creating scoring opportunities off the bounce. Head also has the shooting ability to space the floor, attack closeouts, and provide offense when possessions break down. His size and quickness give him the tools to compete defensively. Head aims to make a significant contribution to Hillcrest Prep throughout the season.
