2026 Get In Get Out Showcase Wing Standouts

There may not be a more valuable archetype in today's game than a versatile wing, and the Get In/Get Out Showcase featured several who should take meaningful steps forward this season. The group included high-level shooters, multi-positional defenders and physical slashers, with several younger prospects still only beginning to figure out how good they can eventually become.    Brunson is starting to stretch out physically, which makes the fact that his perimeter skill set has remained intact particularly intriguing. He's comfortable handling the ball and has become a confident shooter off the dribble, while also knocking down movement threes and deeper catch-and-shoot attempts. He's still thin and doesn't look close to being physically finished, giving him a potentially intriguing combination of size, shooting and guard skills as he continues to develop.     Stone is already physically ahead of many players his age and has some tools that should translate immediately. He's a powerful wing who plays aggressively, rebounds his position and gets off the floor exceptionally quickly around the basket. He isn't afraid to try to finish over defenders and has the strength to absorb contact. The next stage will be continuing to expand his perimeter skill set and finding ways to consistently bring his physicality to the defensive end.     Barrows has considerable upside as a rangy combo forward who is increasingly comfortable playing from the perimeter. He was effective attacking closeouts, taking defenders off the dribble and using his length on the glass, while also showing touch in the mid-range. There are plenty of physical tools to work with, and continued growth as a perimeter player could make him an especially interesting long-term prospect. He should have an opportunity to play an important role for a talented Uniondale group this season.     Almonte has a chance to quickly establish himself as one of the better young prospects in New Jersey. The freshman already has good size on the wing and, more importantly, can really shoot the basketball. He scored at all three levels Saturday and showed the kind of perimeter confidence that should allow him to contribute despite his youth. He'll get tested early at the varsity level, but there's considerable upside as his body and overall game continue to mature.     George has the type of game that should translate well as the competition continues to improve. He doesn't need a high volume of touches to make an impact, spaces the floor as a plus shooter and brings more defensively than he often gets credit for. His toughness and ability to complement more ball-dominant players make him an easy fit within a lineup. There should be plenty of interest in a wing who can defend, shoot and impact winning without needing the offense built around him.     Chappell has a chance to become a really valuable defensive piece because of the versatility and energy he brings to that side of the floor. He can already guard multiple positions and is particularly intriguing at the point of attack, where his competitiveness and physical tools stand out. He rebounds, plays hard and knocked down a couple of threes Saturday. As he continues to develop, he should rise up the rankings.
