Team 4 Recap: The Most Dominant Squad of the KY Freshman Showcase

Team 4 stood out as the only undefeated squad in the building. [player_tooltip player_id='3665439' first='Prince' last='Thomas IV'], [player_tooltip player_id='3593525' first='Cole' last='Adams'], [player_tooltip player_id='3724191' first='Carter' last='Scherretz'], and [player_tooltip player_id='3724562' first='Gavin' last='Weathers'] made my Top Performers list. Here's a look at a few other guys from the KY Freshman Showcase Champion squad:    Kojo operated as Team 4's engine to say the least. He was naturally quicker and more athletic than most of his peers, attributes that he used to his advantage throughout the day. Getting to the rim off the dribble came easy for him. He also flashed some 3pt shooting potential in 5-on-5 play. He was most effective as a downhill threat, but when he did get one off from long distance, he did so in rhythm and in the flow of the game.     Jeremiah was easily one of the strongest prospects in the building and it largely contributed to his success as an on-ball defender. He held his ground and absorbed the contact that others tried to initiate, disrupting most scoring attempts in his vicinity. On the other end of the court, his unselfishness contributed to winning basketball plays. Making the extra pass is atypical in camp settings but Jeremiah stayed true to his game, helping his team go undefeated in the process.     Zavion lived at the right place at the right time throughout the showcase. He moved well without the ball in his hands, consistently making the right read and relocating accordingly. His ability to read the court resulted in a lot of offense for Team 4 plenty of which he assisted on or finished the play. However, none of that is to say that Zavion can't create for himself. His downhill spin-move into a reverse layup was one the most exciting buckets of the day.     Many across the state, LaRue County fans especially, will recognize the Harris name thanks to Houston's older brother, [player_tooltip player_id='2634182' first='Michael' last='Harris']. Houston took a step further in his own journey in competing at the Kentucky Freshman Showcase. He finished at an efficient rate around the rim, especially in the championship game. Houston's catch-and-shoot mechanics could make for solid shooting potential.     Elias doesn't lack confidence in this game, a trait that can take many far. He hunts quick catch-and-shoot opportunities from beyond the arc but most importantly, he made quite a few throughout the day. He also flashed his court vision at times with accuracy on timely passes. Every opportunity he connected on boosted morale and in turn, Team 4's dominance.     Although it's early to say for sure, Colton could have legit upside as a scholarship player at the collegiate level in the future. He has good size for his age and position in addition to an advanced feel for the game. He's light on his feet and decisive with the ball in his hands. He attacked the rim with a purpose at the Kentucky Freshman Showcase and used his size to overcome the opposition of smaller guards. He looked the most comfortable when driving baseline and finishing through traffic.
