Summer Recap: Prospects Ready To Take The Fall By Storm

In this article, I'll be discussing five prospects who had standout performances throughout the summer. It's no surprise that they'll be receiving more attention as the fall season approaches. In my opinion, these prospects will see even greater stock appreciation, especially since two of them, [player_tooltip player_id='2373752' first='Bryson' last='Campbell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2436969' first='Ephriam' last='Moore'], will be joining new programs. Let's dive into the details of these top performers.    [player_tooltip player_id='2636008' first='Jordan' last='Goffney'] is a guard for Episcopal High School and the One Time Legends 3SSB; he was instrumental in orchestrating the offensive flow during my evaluation of his game. Offensively, he displayed speed with the ball in his hands, putting pressure on the defense being played against his team. With that speed, he scored in driving lanes, blew past defenders, and made plays for his teammates. Episcopal will be relying on Jordan to run the offensive flow for his team during the high school season.     Whenever [player_tooltip player_id='2373752' first='Bryson' last='Campbell'] is at an event and I can watch, I always leave impressed by his consistent performance. Putting Bryson in charge of the point guard duties on any given team, he is bound to thrive in this role. He is a floor general who gets all of his teammates involved, whether it's him feeding the post, kicking it out to the perimeter, or finding a player open. Bryson is always aware. From my evaluation, he never seems to let opposing players take him off his rhythm while having the ball in his hands. While he can truly affect the game with his floor general ability, he can make an impact defensively too due to his IQ and reading what happens before a play happens on that end of the court.     [player_tooltip player_id='2436969' first='Ephriam' last='Moore']'s interior scoring skill set was evident during my observation of him. His back-to-the-basket ability is truly impressive. As soon as he secures the ball on the block, it is evident that he would leverage his frame to position himself in a favorable spot around the rim. His footwork plays a crucial role in his post moves, allowing him to effectively control the ball and create scoring opportunities. With his talent and potential, I do not doubt that he will make a significant impact at Oak Hill Academy.     [player_tooltip player_id='1560932' first='Landon' last='Veal'] continues to prove that he is a four-star prospect, and I've been paying attention to his development over his high school career. In my evaluation, Landon has become more of an outside threat from the perimeter, stretching the floor against multiple waves of competition over the summer. With his 6'8 frame, he continues to show that he excels at playing off both feet as he explodes for strong finishes around the basket, being a target off the ball and staying available as a capable lob threat in different offensive situations. Defensively, he possesses the skills to make a significant impact on all three levels of the game. He has consistently demonstrated his valuable shot-blocking ability by guarding perimeter and interior players.     [player_tooltip player_id='2446333' first='Josiah' last='McGowen'] is a point guard prospect who impressed me this summer with his skills. He received two Division I offers from Iona University and Montana State University before the grassroots season ended. Josiah's ability to score on all three levels, including three-pointers, is a testament to his versatility. However, he doesn't rely solely on scoring to make an impact. Instead, he excels at distributing the ball, setting up his teammates for consistent offensive opportunities. Josiah thrives at a fast pace and enjoys playing at a high tempo. Defensively, he competes well and is a formidable presence in passing lanes for opposing offenses.
