Sophomore ID Camp: PGs Who Impressed With Overall Talent

The Sophomore ID Camp gave us another look at a group of young guards who are beginning to establish themselves with their ability to make plays. From confident shooters and vocal floor generals to downhill attackers and crafty shot creators, this group brought different tools to the floor. The common thread was their willingness to compete, make reads and impact the game. With plenty of room to grow, these guards showed why their development will be worth following closely as they continue to rise.    Haslage showed why he is an intriguing point guard prospect at the showcase, consistently putting pressure on the defense by attacking downhill and getting into the paint. He played with a true point guard mentality, keeping the team organized, making the extra pass and creating opportunities for teammates. His ability to balance attacking his own matchup with facilitating for others stood out. Haslage's combination of pace, toughness and decision making gives him an intriguing foundation as a lead guard moving forward     Mosley played with the confidence of a floor general at the showcase, knocking down shots while consistently putting pressure on the defense and getting himself to the free throw line. What stood out just as much was his communication, as he was one of the most vocal players on the floor from start to finish. Mosley brought an emotional edge, awareness and leadership that made his presence felt on every possession. With that combination he looks like the type of guard coaches will have a hard time taking off the floor     Lawson showed intriguing offensive tools during the showcase, using his handle to consistently break defenders down and create separation. He was especially effective working off screens, showing the ability to turn the corner, get downhill or create his own shot when defenders went under. His ball handling gives him the freedom to operate in tight spaces, while his shot creation adds another layer to his offensive profile. Lawson's ability to generate offense for himself makes him a guard worth keeping a close eye on     Tuz impressed at the showcase showing an intriguing blend of downhill aggression and playmaking. He consistently attacked gaps and got himself into the paint, putting pressure on the defense and creating opportunities around the rim. What stood out was his ability to keep his eyes up and recognize the extra pass when help arrived, rather than forcing the issue. Tuz also showed the ability to finish through traffic, giving him a strong combination of attacking mentality, court vision and finishing ability as a young guard     Werkheiser showed the versatility of a guard who can impact the game in multiple ways at the Sophomore ID Camp. He knocked down the three ball with confidence, giving the offense valuable floor spacing while showing the ability to operate as a point guard. Defensively his activity stood out as he jumped passing lanes and created steals that helped spark transition opportunities. Werkheiser's combination of perimeter shooting, playmaking ability and defensive instincts gives him an intriguing foundation to continue developing as a two way guard     Harold brought a quickness to the showcase that made him difficult to keep in front. He showed the ability to attack with either hand, allowing him to change direction and get into the lane before defenders could fully recover. Once he gained an advantage, Harold consistently put pressure on the defense by getting downhill and creating opportunities in the paint. His burst, versatility as a ball handler and willingness to attack give him an intriguing foundation as a young guard with room to continue developing
