The transition from middle school circuit ball to varsity high school basketball in Louisiana is a completely different beast. Faster pace, physical rim protection, and the pressure of earning minutes under varsity head coaches mean only the most prepared freshmen crack the lineup. During the 3 vs 3 games, Lewis completely killed his opponents. He maneuvered with the swagger of a senior, dismantling taller defenders off the dribble, physically outmatching smaller defenders on penetration, and finishing through contact at the rim. Aggressive yet surgical, Lewis demolished mismatches at will, transforming into an immovable force who took over each possession. The real measure of an elite player is how they adjust to playing in less space. Transitioning to 5-on-5 play, Lewis continued showing his winning acumen. Coaches applauded his hustle and off-ball movement, willingness to set physical screens, backdoor cuts, and floor spacing to allow driving lanes for teammates. Romero showed unselfishness, routinely passing up good shots to allow the teammates to take great shots. Lewis also showed himself as the vocal leader and Elite defender. Lewis proved that he can be a team's leading scorer or best facilitator, which separates him from other incoming freshmen. He doesn't need a high volume of shots to dominate a game, His combination of creativity, awareness, physical stature, and intangibles make him one of the most coveted freshmen!!!

Elijah "Pinky" Harper made a remarkable statement at the Louisiana Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, putting on an offensive masterpiece across both the 3v3 and 5v5 sessions of the event.
Harper is an interesting prospect, whom is an elite scorer in the 2030 class who is trying to establish himself at the high school level. Harper's calling card right now is his creativity in scoring. In 3v3 action, where spacing was at a premium, Pinky used his lightning-fast release and elite ball-handling to effortlessly dismantle opponents in isolation. When the showcase transitioned to 5v5 play, his scoring prowess translated seamlessly. Harper will be used as a high-volume scorer who will attract a lot of defensive attention the moment, he crosses half-court due to his natural scoring which is difficult to teach.
"As a 2030 prospect, Harper already has the hardest piece of the puzzle figured out: putting the ball in the basket.
Harper has the offensive pedigree that fast-paced college coaches crave. He is a true walking bucket who can change the outcome of a game with a single scoring run, and this showcase performance only proves that he should be cemented on recruiter radars as he begins his high school career.

Lonzo put on a show at the Louisiana Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, demanding attention during both 3v3 half-court settings and full court 5v5 action. Standing at only 5'3", he was the absolute epitome of "heart over height," canceling out size advantages with his elite toughness, lateral quickness, and a relentless motor that kept pressure on defenders every second he was on the floor.
Whether maneuvering through tight spaces in 3v3 session or orchestrating the offense in 5v5 competition, Lonzo proved to be a floor general who sets the tone and controls the balance of the game. His basketball IQ stood out immediately to evaluators and coaches in attendance. He rarely turned the ball over, processing information rapidly and delivering pinpoint, in-rhythm passes to teammates in their sweet spots.
Beyond his elite playmaking, Lonzo punished defenders who slacked off to help inside. When defenses collapsed, he made them pay with a lethal stroke from deep. His seamless transition between the fast-paced 3v3 runs and structured 5v5 sets highlighted his versatility, poise, and elite decision-making. Lonzo established himself at the showcase as a premier young backcourt magician to watch closely in the Class of 2030.

Alfredo proved that impact far outweighs height on the hardwood, delivering a noteworthy performance across both 3v3 and 5v5 sessions. A scrappy, high-energy, no-nonsense point guard, Ortega set a physical, disciplined tone from the opening tip.
In the fast-paced 3v3 games, Ortega's low center of gravity proved to be helpful allowing him to stay in defensive position against larger defenders. He used his compact frame to play tight, disruptive ball-pressure defense, making life miserable for opposing ballhandlers in space. Offensively, his high IQ allowed him to exploit small lapse in the defense, direct teammates when to properly cut, and keep the ball moving effectively in tight spaces.
When competition shifted to the 5v5 full-court matchups, Ortega's unselfish mindset and high basketball IQ took over. Rather than chasing bad shots, he consistently made the right play—whether making the extra pass to an open shooter, diving for loose balls, or managing the team's floor spacing. Ortega is the definition of a coach's dream: a tough, high-intangible player whose immeasurable hustle, leadership qualities, and unselfish play directly correlates to winning basketball.

Chance put his entire skill set on display at the Louisiana Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, making his presence felt instantly competing in both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 action.
Foster has perfected an impressive all-around offensive game. He attacks and finishes at the rim with either hand, combines elite ball-handling with excellent body control, and shows a soft touch from the mid-range. Foster knocks down the 3-point shot at high clip, forcing opponents to respect him at all three levels.
What separates Foster, is his high basketball IQ. He understands how to read the floor, manipulate the defense, and create shots for teammates. Whether creating of the dribble or making the extra pass, Foster has mastered the art of getting his teammates involved without sacrificing his own offensive prowess.
His impact on defense is just as noticeable. Foster is a tenacious on-ball defender who brings fire on every possession. He's also extremely vocal, communicating assignments and directing teammates defensively—leadership qualities that stood out throughout the showcase.
Perhaps most impressive is the confidence Chance carries onto the court. There is a swagger and competitive edge to his game that is enjoyable to watch. He plays with the skill, toughness, leadership, and confidence of senior who expects to win.
At the Louisiana Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, Chance didn't simply display talent—he displayed the traits of a winner.
