Alfredo proved that impact far outweighs height on the hardwood, delivering a noteworthy performance across both 3v3 and 5v5 sessions. A scrappy, high-energy, no-nonsense point guard, Ortega set a physical, disciplined tone from the opening tip.
​In the fast-paced 3v3 games, Ortega’s low center of gravity proved to be helpful allowing him to stay in defensive position against larger defenders. He used his compact frame to play tight, disruptive ball-pressure defense, making life miserable for opposing ballhandlers in space. Offensively, his high IQ allowed him to exploit small lapse in the defense, direct teammates when to properly cut, and keep the ball moving effectively in tight spaces.
​When competition shifted to the 5v5 full-court matchups, Ortega’s unselfish mindset and high basketball IQ took over. Rather than chasing bad shots, he consistently made the right play—whether making the extra pass to an open shooter, diving for loose balls, or managing the team’s floor spacing. Ortega is the definition of a coach’s dream: a tough, high-intangible player whose immeasurable hustle, leadership qualities, and unselfish play directly correlates to winning basketball.

As mentioned before, Team 3 was loaded with talent, and often times players might struggle having to accept a role player designation when they are usally accustomed to being “the guy”. This was not the case with Alfredo as he utilized the opportunity to play with other high level talent. Ortega is a crafty and smart PG that pushes the tempo and makes the right reads. Alfredo also showcased the ability to knock down shots from beyond the 3 point line.
